I chose this hotel in the Divani collection for it's attached spa. The spa itself was exquisite with many added touches.
The shuttle service to nearby Glyfada and to the centre of Athens was available several times daily. With this, it was possible to visit the historic sites and experience Athens. At the reception I found that regular tours offered pick up right at the hotel as well.
The time of year was not good for the beach nor for the pools but that is not what I came for. I came for the tranquility of the spa while being close enough to the city to visit the historic sites. At another time of year, the beachside location combined with the pools make this a delightful destination.
Cape Sounio is a truly lovely place. There was very little I could find fault with. The staff were extremely helpful with the service overall excellent. Food and facilities were great and the place was just fabulous. The beach was great and the view across the bay to the template was just magical. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday experience but the easy, cheap trip into Athens make sight-seeing feasible too.
Grecotel Cape Sounio is more than a resort-it is an experience. Like the Temple of Poseidon, in plain view from all the …More
Really enjoyed our time at the hotel, staff were very helpful and keen to chat and cater for your every need. Lovely position with a great view of the sea and what was going on there. Easy walking distance of restaurants and the lake. Toilet paper could have been softer, and towels not always big enough
Just got back from a 5 night stay. Cannot fault this hotel. Very clean, very comfy beds. Bathroom perfectly fine - shower over bath (shame the shower curtain was not more effective - always ended up with water on the floor!). Really good value and our rate included the buffet breakfast which was great. Very nicely furnished reception area, lovely area to sit in outside with a drink. Smallish Pool lost the sun about 4pm, but beaches across the main road for all day sunbathing. Near the tram stop (5 min walk) - about 1 hr into Central Athens. Lots of shops and bars also 5 min walk.
Although best known for its historical and archaeological sites, Athens is also blessed with lovely beaches on the Aegean Sea. Travelers can experience majestic views of the water and still remain within convenient reach of the famous historical sites of Athens, such as the Acropolis and the Parthenon. The historic port city of Piraeus is also nearby.
