I have just returned from my 4th stay at Collage Pera. I prefer small boutique style hotels for their personal service and stylish decor and this one has both. The location is a couple of minutes from the Sishane metro and Tunel funicular, and also from the end of Istiklal Cd., the main shopping street.
Our booking was for Pera Palace, from 7/12/14 for 9 nights, where we had stayed twice before in 2013 and had enjoyed our stay there on both occasions. But this time we were greeted by a rude and arrogant customer service man. Firstly he couldn't find our booking and than made us run from room to room with various prices and did not take into account we were paying customers who had travelled from afar. We had no choice but to stay the night. We found the staff around hotel unfriendly and arrogant. We called Expedia and transferred to the Rixos Pera the next morning. We were welcomed by all the staff, as we had stayed here over a year ago. The room was beautifully set out and huge compared to Pera Palace. Breakfast time very enjoyable and plenty of choice. Staff were very friendly and professionally. The hospitality manager kivanc Ucar introduced himself and assured us if we needed anything just ask, as he had been made aware about our poor experience at Pera Palace. What request we made to the staff they were always fulfilled. We never heard anyone say the word "no". We were so pleased with our stay and thanked the staff and gifted them chocolates on our last day and they gifted us with a huge box of macaroons. Truly a fantastic place to stay. Highly recommended. Close to shops and restaurants. Airport is about 30 mins. And taxi costs about 60 Turkish lira.

The hotel did not respect my reservation without notification. I was able to stay for a couple of nights, then in the third day they moved all my stuff without notification and gave me a crapy room. During this movement they lost one shirt that was in the closet, at the end they returned but asked me to give 3 hours to recover it (???).
When I arrived at check in, suspiciously my sweater got lost.
It was wonderfull experience staying there. Very close to every thing, 2 mins walk to taksim and 8 mins walk to train station. Every thing was very close by. Love the hotel staff very very professional

The staff in the hotel are very friendly and helpful, they help you with your luggage, hotel taxi, explaining prices, where good touristy places are. the breakfast is good. room service good. i have no complaints what so ever. everything was great, from the bathroom (which i'm very fussy about, because i like it to be clean and the shower temperature to be hot) to the bedroom. closet space was good, tv was cool.
