After a day at Drayton Manor this hotel was perfect to crash in. Can't fault the hotel. It doesn't have a restaurant but the staff gave us take away menus and told us of local restaurants. There are lots of places to eat nearby. The hotel did have a microwave in the vending section of the reception which is ideal for heating up childrens food.
Breakfast was a lot more than I expected, sausages, bean, scrambled egg. Loads of branded cereals, croissants, Danish pastries, fruit, yoghurts, juice.
Nice looking and centrally located hotel. The bedroom and general decor were a bit tired but perfectly acceptable. I arrived half-way through breakfast and the cooked breakfast was ok, but could have been presented better - it's help yourself and the food containers could do with being replaced. The waitress was nice and brought some tea quickly. It was quite cheap so, all in all, it was good value for money.

Booked at the last minute for a family reunion,( I couldn't afford the hotel my family were staying in in Lichfield) however, the Holiday Inn Express gave us a much better experience. We were greeted by smiling faces, the room was clean and the beds extremely comfy (including the sofa bed.) I thought we might be disturbed by traffic noise through the night but you couldn't hear anything.
I expect this type of hotel to be pretty soul less but for what we paid, and what we got, it couldn't be faulted. I was travelling with my two children who enjoyed the buffet breakfast (which included a cooked breakfast if you wanted it - nothing special but again, excellent value for money). It was also extremely convenient for our journey home on the A5 in the morning!
"Ideal location for visiting the Lichfield Festival"
Warm welcome and immediate attention to anything you need. Excellent breakfast. Well furnished room and modern bathroom. Spacious car park. Very convenient for walking into the town or to the Cathedral, Darwin House and Beacon Park. An excellent place to stay for the Lichfield Festival.

For an overnight stay you would be hard pressed to find better value for money. The location of the hotel is excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the rooms spacious and spotlessly clean.
