“would return”
great service and friendly staff. Needed updating but was clean.
“Our stay at The Tropicana”
Good price and specious room with a retro 90's style ! We didn't expect much but was satisfy. The staff at the lobby very heplfull and nice all the time. We were really happy to be at Eagle beach Quieter than Palm Beach. Short walk to the beach, november is low season so there was plenty of chair. Would Return at the Tropicana. Note that next year there building a huge supermarket not far from the hotel. A plus for conviency
“Needs updates”
First I have to say the staff was wonderful. They would go out of thee way for you. Now having said that, It has gotten run down. It needs some work and from what I understand that will take place in Dec. The pools are nice and the beach is a walk but beautiful. For anyone having a problem walking they will drive you there in a golf cart. You have to take a bus or cab to go anywhere.
“What a beach!”
What a beach! Quiet...spacious...great pools...near busline...nice kitchen...older furniture, but ok..short walk to Eagle Beach, an outstanding beach...room cleaning a zero, only thing done was taking trash out 5 times out of eight days, no tip...staff was friendly and informative...restaurants, very pricey, but both of us are great cooks, no problem, kitchen facility was adequate.. yes, would go back.
“definetly would return”
Rooms need some serious updating. Staff most courteous, helpful, friendly love the beach
“Quiet and basic”
The Tropicana had everything we wanted on our trip to Aruba. It was quiet, had two good pools, and large comfortable rooms. We go for the Sun and Sea, not for a "resort" experience. There is no casino at this time, not a lot of other entertainment either. You need to use public transportation or a rental car to get around for shopping, dining etc. The room are dated and a bit worn, but our room was clean when we got there and was kept clean throughout our stay. The retro bathroom is kinda cool. The kitchenette was good too. Everything worked. Eagle beach is a very short walk and worth every step. Go early to reserve a hut. Chairs are plentiful. The onsite restaurant served us a decent reasonably priced dinner. The place is perfect for anyone who wants a good place to stay while they enjoy the island. We would certainly stay there again.
“Work in Process”
Currently going through a "makeover", but they do a good job of keeping the work away from the finished rooms. Would like to go back to see the finished product. The pools were immaculate and the staff were very friendly and helpful (but then it is "one happy island"). The pool bar was a little shabby, but we were told that was to be part of the upgrade along with the casino which is temporarily closed. An older but charming place with well kept grounds.
“Not Impressed! Needs a lot of work”
False advertisement! NO CASINO! Said it was closed to renovations, but it looks very small, and the entire week I was there, I never saw anyone working on it!! The entire hotel needs a face lift, and it looks like they are trying, but paint over paint, over paint, looks awful! They came to our room to spray for bugs while we were there.. The doors had huge cracks in them, and the rooms were very out dated.. 13" tube TV's, and the entire place was Dirty. The cabinets looked like they have been through a flood and was all wet and moldy. No activities at all planned for guest and had to walk quite a ways to get a cab or take the bus to town... Nothing to do at the resort, that would make me want to stay there, versus going into town. The swim up bar at the pool, had way too many rules, and very costly, even at happy hr. The restaurant on site is ok, the staff was very friendly especially "Sweetie", I think she made our stay a little more pleasant. Need to really look at improving the entire resort and updating it. Need activities to keep me at the resort, instead of forcing visitors to go to other places for entertainment. No band or music by the pools at all.. Really looked like a ghost town while there..
“Very Good for the price”
This is my first visit to Aruba. I stayed at Tropicana Aruba Resort & Casino. The hotel stay was good. Very close to the Eagle beach, the best beach. I liked this better than the Palm beach located near high rise. The pool was good and clean. Rooms were good. The bed was clean and average in comfort. The service was good. The people were nice and friendly. If I go back to Aruba, I may consider staying Tropicana Aruba.
“No nightime entertaiment, boring”
overall, i was satified. I got what i paid for. I got a 1 bedroom apartment with a well equipped kitchen for that price in Aruba, i could not complain. My daughters enjoyed the pools. It was very boring at night. We had to go accross the street for entertainment.
