“Divi Aruba Oct2011”
The hotel was clean and the staff was nice and professional. We would recommend staying there however not by the Golf Club. There is too much noise, construction and hotel staff moving around too early. This should obviously change with time as the new entrance gets completed. But overall, they do a great job, the pools are great and the walk to the beach isn't bad.
“great place, but with the construction lots of noice and dust. Nice if had a gift shop and shuttle”
Nice place and great location closer to shopping areas and at the beach needs a gift shoppp and a suttle
“I LOVE ARUBA GREAT HOTEL JUST NEVER LET THEM GIVE YOU ROOM 5301”
NEXT TO ALL THE WRONG PLACES. MY VIEW WAS NOT THE OCEAN OR A GARDEN. INSTEAD IT WAS WHERE THE WORKERS COME IN TO WORK. SO I HAD HANGING OUT IN FRONT OF MY ROOM. I COULD NOT USE MY BALCONY AS IT WAS RIGHT WHERE EMPLOYEES WERE SITTING, STANDING, OR EVEN COMING IN AND OUT. THERE WAS A DUMPSTER ACROSS FROM MY ROOM THAT WAS MY VIEW.IT WAS MY 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY AND I WAS THERE FOR 10 DAY'S. IT WAS VERY DISSAPOINTING. IT WAS THE FIRST AT THE GOLF AND BEACH RESORT. THE OTHER 2 X'S I STAYED AT THE PHOENIX IT WAS AMAZING.
“NOT IMPRESSED”
My room was nice but not for a 2 night stay. Construction of a new lobby interfered with walkways, making it difficult to get around. The food & drinks are nothing special. Service was not good, nor the checkout process. If you aren't all inclusive, everything is pricey. If you don't like birds & reptiles, you would not like this area. The place is crawling with them!
“Not terribly disappointed”
Out hotel room had a beautiful ocean front and poolside view. The room was equipped with a stove and a refrigerator which proved extremely beneficial because the food was expensive and not that good. Unfortunately the drinks were watered down as well. Luckiliy there was a grocery store nearby so we were able to cook our own food at the hotel. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Divi is considered to be in the low rise. We took a cab to the high rise which has more activities for the young adult crowd but it is also overcrowded. I thought Divi was more of an older crowd spot. So it just depends on your taste. The high rise is not far from the low rise and it is a $10 cab ride. Personally I liked the quietness of the Divi but the high rise had better food. Overall, I would recommend the Divi but not the meal plan.
“Aruba and Iguanas”
Had a very nice time. We would stay at Divi again.
“Lovely and Comfy”
We loved our ground-floor room right across from the beach. The staff were friendly and available and the location was convenient to a great variety of activities and events. We will definitely return!
“Never will go back”
Two days before check out we had to move to another room, following an incident with a stove that refused to turn off. The room that we moved to was not as clean as the previous room. (dirty walls, couch etc). Not to mention the reason we had to change rooms is because my sister, son & I went to a nearby casino and after an hour later we received a call from my 72 yr old mother who stayed behind to go to sleep. She was in a panic saying she smelled gas and heard noises coming from the boiler. She called the front desk before calling us but we arrived back at the hotel before any hotel staff got to the room. After checking the system and calling two other men to find a switch in order to force the stove to stop leaking gas, the staff decided it was fine but not necessarily safe to go back into that room.. Of course, I called the front desk and requested another room stating one strike of a match an the whole room will go up in flames. Another inconvenience was one of the two elevators was broken, and the one that did function suffers from weird jumps between floors as if the elevator cable is wanting to give. No one is available at the front desk between 1am - 8am. Not a good choice for us, I will say it has nice scenery and it has rooms that resemble an small apartment. However, I do believe this hotel is in need of renovation with respects to technical malfunctions and outward appearance.
“very good experience”
It is a very good resort, conveniently located less than 10 min. by bus to Palm Beach and 10 min. by bus to Oranjestad downtown. It is easy (and very cheap in compariso to a taxi) to take the bus (very close to the resort). Palm beach is indeed beautiful but crowded as well. If instead you prefer to have beautiful and quiet beaches go to the Divi Village, that zone is much better in that sense. Believe it or not, eating at the hotel may be cheaper than eating out.
“Good location nice beach!!”
This was a great location. The beach and water were outstanding. We ate at the Windows restaurant on the property at the golf course and found the food very good as was the service and atmosphere. We took a helicopter tour of the island and this was worth the money. Felt very safe on and off the resort when we rented a car for the day and took our own tour of the island it being only 20 miles long by six miles wide. The only draw back was the 12oz. drafts for $4 change and the 12 oz blender drinks for $8.00. Bring$$$$$$$$$$$$$!! if you get thirsty and hungry.
