“Quiet, convenient - would definitely come back”
We stayed at this hotel for 1 week in November, 2011. We had 3 rooms in this hotel because we were moved/upgraded due to the Expedia VIP status. THe first room was a partial oceanview, and we had trouble with this room due to setting the air conditioning up (it was too cold). This caused excessive humidity in the room, which was resolved by turning the air conditioning back down again - causing excessive coldness for me. We moved out of this room to the upgraded room, and it was vastly improved. We were in a room off the pool area. The hotel is very quiet, and very family friendly. We did not eat in the restaurants, but opted to go into the high-rise hotel area to enjoy the restaurants there. (We did not have the all inclusive feature, which is an option with this hotel). We really liked the quiet hotel. The pool is small, but very pleasant, and only 4 feet deep, but that was fine for us. The beach is just across the street and very convenient. We were moved for one night to a standard studio..no view really, but we probably liked this room the best, because it was tucked away in the back, very, very quiet...high ceiling, good air conditioning, ceiling fan, and all the amenities of all the rooms, which are a kitchen facility. We LOVED this hotel. We think it would be good for families, and saw little children around. It is a very, nice hotel..and recommend it very highly.
“Great hotel in a great location”
We had a fantastic time in Aruba. We wish we did not stay in building C at the hotel. The staff are great but they allocated this room in the building that needs to have AC set to less than 20 deg C all through the night. We felt cold so we set the conditioner to fan but in 1/2 hour the whole room was wet and we felt aweful . Aruba has great weather and why would you not be able to open the window or door and sleep. We got sick beacase of the AC. Other than that we had a great time after we got to change our room to another building. It is a beautiful property. The people are nice and helpful but they need to fix the AC in building C.
“Can't wait to go back”
Everything about this hotel was perfect. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, they even upgraded us from a regular room to a suite. How nice of them. The beach was quiet and relaxing. And the location was perfect all you had to do was step out of your room on to the street take a taxi or the bus and you were downtown. I highly recommend staying here. I can't wait to go back and visit. It was the best vacation ever.
“Not Worth it!”
bad location, not convinient store close by, not ATM machine, breakfeast starts late. Go to Palm Beach
“Excellent accommodation”
We were surprised at how nice this facility was. Our room was great. The service was exceptional and the beach was superp. Can't wait to go back
“Awsome little hotel!! I would stay again.”
We stayed at the Manor for a week and had a great experience. The hotel is small but it is well maintained, very clean and located perfectly between both Downtown (shopping area) and Palm Beach (Party) area. The staff was friendly, helpful and recommended several local inexpensive locations for lunch and dinner, they also recommended to take the local transportation approx $1.30 one way (20 minute wait, but your not in a rush your on vacation) The Mangos resturant provides a nice variety of menu items, there's also a bar lounge located on the hotel property, across the road is Passions and they have a daily happy hour the drinks arent very strong but they are tasty. You should also make reservations to have a nice romantic dinner on the beach, the scene with the sunset is gourgeous.
“Quaint, quiet and romantic”
Loved this hotel, will definitely be returning. It's right on Eagle Beach, the best one in Aruba. The bus stop is right outside, and it goes to the supermarkets and downtown Oranjestad. You can also hop on the bus going in the other direction to get to the Butterfly Farm and the High Rise hotels. Kitchen was fully stocked and we were able to prepare whatever food and/or cocktails we wanted. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Room was immaculately clean and very comfortable. The BBQ at Mango's restaurant was delicious (and pricey!). Sitting on the beach next to the Passion's restaurant and/or bar at night is amazing, so romantic and beautiful. The concierge was very friendly and helpful, and arranged our snorkeling trip. My only contention is that the pillows (not the pillowcases) in the room had a very funky smell to them. Other than that, cannot complain! Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Aruba and looking for a quiet vacation. The hotel allows dogs, so feel free to bring your pups! We missed ours dearly while there, but will be bringing them the next time we go.
“Best Beach In Aruba”
The most friendly people anywhere. This was our second trip to Amsterdam Manor. It was even better then the first. They have the best beach, outstanding restaurants. weekly special events. The rooms where nice and very clean.
“Hard beds, broken appliances”
We checked into this hotel thinking it was one of the top ones in the area, and it was in a good location. However, when we checked in we were not told that we had to "check out" a remote for the TV, so we looked all over the room for it. No big deal, but then the TV picture quality and sound quality was very bad anyway so it really didn't matter. When we told staff about the issues, they gave me the remote and told me to try to fix the wiring on the TV myself. I tried but it was really a mess, and I needed tools to tighten the wires, which I didn't bother trying to procure. Also, the bed was very hard. I don't mind a little support, but I thought after the fact that maybe we were supposed to "check out" a mattress too, and maybe we were sleeping on the box spring. The fact that the shower was very small and the stove wouldn't light were just additional irritations. Overall, the staff was pleasant and the restaurant on the beach was nice, but I wouldn't rush back there at this point with other options to choose from.
“Excellent stay.”
This was our first trip to Aruba and we are so glad we decided to stay at the Amsterdam Manor. It was everything we expected. The hotel was clean, quiet and ultra friendly. The food at the hotel is better than most. There is a small street that you have to cross to get to the beach but it's nothing to worry about as it was a very short and easy walk to the best beach we've ever been to. We are already talking about going back and we will stay at the Amsterdam Manor again.
