We had a lovely short break at this hotel at the end of September and the weather was still beautiful. It was in a lovely location with great views over the sea. It was just a short walk down to the closest beach which had the bluest water I have ever seen. The hotel was nice, the room was spacious and clean with a huge balcony. We ate in the restaurant each evening and although I can imagine if we had been there for over a week the food would probably have become a bit samey we really enjoyed our meals and the staff were really friendly plus there was entertainment every night. The outdoor pool was beautiful to sit and relax by and there was a games room and bar. We walked into the town which was quite a long walk but worth it. Disappointed that we had to pay extra to use the gym and for the safe but overall we loved our holiday and we are looking forward to going back!
Everything you've read is true (apart from the review where the person seemed to complain about everything, but there's always one isn't there) my wife and I loved this place and the yummy breakfast was a great way to start the day. Omar is such a nice chap and does go out of his way to make sure you're having an enjoy able stay, we would not hesitate to go back and hope to next year. It really is just about the perfect place to stay if you want to relax and of course the Algarve is gorgeous!
Stayed in a villa for 4 days. Villa overlooked the pool and the villa itself was very clean and staff were helpful. A few nice places to eat nearby and a short taxi ride from local marina. Close to several beaches also.
"Excellent base for exploring with comfort & peace"
After much searching for a hotel that fit the bill along the coastline and around Albufeira, we settled on the Baia Grande. I must say for the week we wanted, it was also the cheapest !
Having looked around the town after we had I checked in, all I can say is that I am glad we stayed here rather than noisy crowded rooms or apartments in close vicinity to pub after pub and the crowds. I can't understand the people who marked the place down because the entertainment was more suited to older people and was too quiet. My partner and I are in our mid 40's and most of the other guests were retirees or OAPs, for that I am glad. It meant that we actually got sleep of a night instead of putting up with those type of guests who talk all night on the balcony at the top of their voices or generally annoy other people. The room was very clean and warm with a great balcony view. I was surprised how well sound insulated it was when the door was shut. The entertainment didn't finish that late either, another bonus. The breakfast was well appointed with either continental or English, plenty of fruit or cereal and hot drinks.
For me the reviews I read before booking had a lot of nit-picking and those just want perfection and are probably never satisfied with anything. The hotel and grounds were well kept, always space to park. The staff were generally helpful and we didnt have any cause to complain. If you want loud music, booze and to talk all night, this place isn't for you. Obrigado !!
The Orada apartments were spacious, clean and very well equipped with Bosch appliances. We had 2 teenage children with us, who really enjoyed the large pool. The apartments themselves were huge, with plenty of storage space and a bathroom for each of the bedrooms. The kitchen was really well equipped and there was enough space in the fridge freezer to store food for breakfasts and lunches. It was quite a walk - a good 25 mins - into the center of the old town, but it was pleasant enough along the coast road and there were plenty of bars to stop and have a drink at along the way. Opposite the apartments, the Marina had some lovely cafes and was handy for the many water activities on offer in the area. We did the dolphin and caves experience and it was fantastic. Loved it!
Owner was very accommodating in ever way possible and would go out of his way to make you comfortable and your stay enjoyable. The only difficulty is that it is a little bit out of the way and the taxi drivers although most spoke good english didnt really know where it was ... but as long as you remember Caminho do Raposo they know exactly where it is. 6 euros for one trip to the strip. Very clean and very well looked after villa hotel... would stay again and would recommend it to anyone travelling away as a couple or as an individual.
5 mins walk to beach, the staff are very friendly and helpful,we where only booked for b/b,i have been in a lot of hotels abroad but the food in this hotel is excellent, there was lots to eat, every thing you can think of from an english
fry to a cold buffet ,many types of cereal, lots of fruit, and cold meats cheese,
