"Comfortable Hotel close to Station and Taxi Rank"
Hotel was central in Arras and we were able to walk to most shops, cafes and places of interest. Food was good and the staff very helpful. Difficulties with language were easily sorted with patience and much arm waving. By the end of the holiday the staff were treating my wife and I like old friends. Arras has much to offer because of the two wars. Most folk we met were looking for their relatives' graves. Apart from that Arras has a long, long history going back over 1000 years. One needs to take time to study the town's history, but the effort will be worth the effort.
I would have needed a car or bicycle to visit some of the major war memorials such as Vimy Ridge and the Somme. Overall it is an area that you need to visit more that once to really appreciate everything.
The hotel is located in the heart of the city and across form the main train station (which you can't) hear from inside the hotel. The staff and morning breakfast are amazing!!. To leave the homeland go for a walk around the area is nice and charming and very safe.
Our concerns at the Hotel being opposite the railway station, were completely unfounded. We didn't hear even the slightest sound of train during the stay. Lovely hotel, lovely staff, excellent inexpensive parking right outside. We couldn't fault the hotel in any way.

Good stay only one night. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Had a problem locating the hotel our satnav could not pick up the full address. We found it by asking some local people. Otherwise our stay was very satisfactory
We stayed at the Balladins, Arras whilst following the Tour de France. This is definitely a budget hotel but not as bad as previous reviews would lead you to believe. It is very easy to find from the main AutoRoute, with plenty of free, secure parking. We ate dinner in the hotel - mainly because the weather was atrocious and we didn't want to get a taxi into the town. The meal was fine, freshly prepared and reasonable value for money. The house wine was very good and the waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast the next morning was good value, plenty of choice and a reasonable price for a French hotel. The rooms need updating but everything was clean, plenty of towels and fresh linen on the bed. This would not be our first choice of hotel but certainly acceptable for a one night stopover.

"Wonderful hotel with an idyllic view of the châtea"
Great location overlooking the lake and a wonderful view of the château. Lovely welcome, friendly staff, very clean room with tea and coffee supplies. Be aware that parking is a 2 minute walk up the road and there is no lift, however this was not an issue for us. Breakfast was a generous buffet which was lovely. The village had plenty of places to eat and drink, mini golf and boating on the lake.

When you arrive at a hotel after a tiring drive, you don't want any unusual experiences. Our arrival was just what we wanted. An nice hotel with a great location. Lots nearby but the hotel was quiet as we were at the back by the courtyard. Breakfast was wonderful in a very nice bricked restaurant room. Parking right in the square by the hotel.I would highly recommend this hotel and stay here again.
Good, clean comfortable with a good restaurant attached. Excellent wi-fi reception in the room. A little way out of town, so would need to drive if eating out.
Breakfast good, buffet style, but a little pricey (10 Euros per day).
Hospitality tray in the room, but only two milks allowed, no more obtainable from reception!

Arras is justifiably famous for its two stunning town squares. These opulent spaces speak of Arras's history as a major trading center: the town hall is a fine example of 16th century Flemish gothic architecture. La Place des Héros has a bustling Christmas market and the citadel plays host to the Main Square music festival every summer. Many visitors come to pay their respects at the Vimy Memorial.
