We stayed for a night while going to the Canadian Memorial in Vimy ridge. The hotel was clean the restaurant was great and the staff let us have a late check out due to a late train and some bad weather. Would love to stay again.
Reception staff were excellent. We inquired about taking a cab to Vimy and the next thing we knew we had a driver who picked us up and dropped us at several points of interest. We really appreciated that level of service.
Dinner in the dining room was outstanding.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city and across form the main train station (which you can't) hear from inside the hotel. The staff and morning breakfast are amazing!!. To leave the homeland go for a walk around the area is nice and charming and very safe.
Our concerns at the Hotel being opposite the railway station, were completely unfounded. We didn't hear even the slightest sound of train during the stay. Lovely hotel, lovely staff, excellent inexpensive parking right outside. We couldn't fault the hotel in any way.

Used the hotel as an hour's drive from Calais so good stopover en route to alps. The self service breakfast was good. The only negative comments were that despite being a non smoking hotel it stunk of smoke and the shower was small with a shower curtain.
I had read previous reviews where people said they had trouble locating the hotel - I had not issues with that - it was easy to find coming from Vimy - albeit in the daylight.
The hotel is small, tucked out of the way in an industrial area.
The room was clean and comfortable - but the hotel is noisy. People leaving banging car doors and moving around - and the sound carries right into the rooms.
The food was good and there was a lot of it - although I think there was only a handful of people staying there.
It is a low cost hotel and was a pleasant surprise - I would have no trouble recommending this hotel (aside from way the noise carries).
Ask for a room on the backside of the hotel - away from the parking lot and this may help with the early morning noise.
We stayed at the Balladins, Arras whilst following the Tour de France. This is definitely a budget hotel but not as bad as previous reviews would lead you to believe. It is very easy to find from the main AutoRoute, with plenty of free, secure parking. We ate dinner in the hotel - mainly because the weather was atrocious and we didn't want to get a taxi into the town. The meal was fine, freshly prepared and reasonable value for money. The house wine was very good and the waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast the next morning was good value, plenty of choice and a reasonable price for a French hotel. The rooms need updating but everything was clean, plenty of towels and fresh linen on the bed. This would not be our first choice of hotel but certainly acceptable for a one night stopover.

Exceptional staff who waited for us as we were late for check in. Lovely view from our window of the Place d'Heroes. Still hard to manoeuver the flights of circular stairs with luggage so be prepared. Rooms are small but clean and the bed made for a restful sleep. I would return.

Arras is justifiably famous for its two stunning town squares. These opulent spaces speak of Arras's history as a major trading center: the town hall is a fine example of 16th century Flemish gothic architecture. La Place des Héros has a bustling Christmas market and the citadel plays host to the Main Square music festival every summer. Many visitors come to pay their respects at the Vimy Memorial.
