Lovely location. Fantastic spa. Lots of steps to the beach so could be a problem for those who have trouble walkng. We went with 4 year old and although hotel takes children we would go back just as a couple. You can't have proper meal until 1930/2000 which is too late for young children. Service can be sllooowww... Lovely food.
We spent 3 nights in Vila Vita at the end of a long road trip through Spain and Portugal. The resort is immense, though in a good way. The extensive grounds are mostly used up with gardens, pools, bars and restaurants for guests. The health club facilities were very comfortable with the -2 degrees snow room a must.
Breakfast at the Atlantico restaurant is a treat if you don't have kids (adults only).
The 18 hole pitch an putt course is a great way to get some fresh air with a magnificent view over the ocean. We also tried the 18 hole mini golf which was a lot of fun.
We stayed for a week in June for a last-minute trip away with our 15-month old. The pictures do not do the place justice, it is much nicer in reality. Easy check-in, very pleased with the apartment (which is one bed, not two as the website says, however couch in lounge becomes another bed if needed). Our toddler son slept in our room in a travel cot which was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Gardens and pool are very clean and well maintained.
The restaurant and bar was closed as we were too early in the season but that didn't bother us - we either cooked in or ate out at local restaurants. There is a cafe on site which sells burgers, pizzas etc (good pizzas) and bottles of water and fresh bread every morning, but for anything more the local supermarket has everything.
We had a great stay and have already recommended to friends with babies who want a complete get away and relaxing chill out. SIte is quiet and relaxed - no entertainment, which is how we like it!
Suited to young families, with 2 good sized pools and smaller children's pools. 2 well run restaurants with additional snack bar. Staff are very helpful and are constantly tending to duties. I would recommend if you are looking for sun, sea and relaxation. If you are keen on site-seeing then hire a car or go to a larger town/city.
The hotel has plenty of activities running throughout the day but this is not always well posted so make sure you ask the staff for details.
This was the first holiday my partner and I went on together and found this hotel catered for all our needs. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were an ideal size for the two of us however we requested a double bed but got two twin beds placed together - although we did get a free upgrade and had a spare guest room, and a outdoor patio! - very nice! The pool area was really clean and pleasant. Their clientel is of an older age range, however this again is perfect for those that are looking for a nice quiet get away in which case was perfect for us. We had a bed and breakfast package and the breakfast was amazing. The quality of the food was really nice and catered every possible breakfast type you could ask for. The resort itself was rather quiet we found restaurants are a bit limited to what they offer however nonetheless still pleasing. We did say we would like to return here again but another relaxing holiday. So thumbs up to Villa Gale Nautico.
Armação boasts one of Portugal's longest beaches. Soft pale sand slopes to a sparkling clear blue sea, framed by stunning rocky cliffs. Enjoy the catch of the day at a waterfront café, sample lively bars and clubs, or escape to Old Pêra, the tiny hillside village with its 17th century fort and cobbled streets, for a romantic starlit supper. Sea Life and water parks are very close by for days out.
