“Comfortable launching point for exciting Arenal activities”
We were very happy with our experience at Arenal Springs! The hotel was a little difficult to find when arriving to La Fortuna in the dark, but the condition of the roads is endemic of the area, not the fault of the resort. Service was incredible - staff was friendly and helpful with any little thing we needed. The layout of the resort made it like a small community. All the rooms were clean and cozy with patios facing Arenal volcano. Our favorite part was the beautiful pool area! We looked forward to a swim every night after hiking, rafting, etc. I definitely hope to return and will recommend this place to friends!!
“It's worth the price.”
Good Staff, especially the guy that handles the tours, very nice enthusiastic gentlemen. If you want your laundry done, brace for high prices, because you will have to pay for almost each item, which is the case for more hotel/resorts in Costa Rica During my short stay, there was a problem with Internet-connection, it was a litlle bit unstable, but since you are in Costa Rica, I guess that you wouldn't waste your time sitting behind a computer. My overall opinion is a 8 out 10, so pretty good
“Great Hotel for Arenal Area”
First time in CR. Loved hotel and location. I had a car to get around. Hotel has hot springs pool. Great view of arenal when clear. I would love to go back to this hotel. The cottage style of hotel was very nice.
“Arenal Springs Resort”
Beautiful views, amazing staff, awesome "hot springs" pool, large room with a fantastic shower, easy process, great concierge service, easy booking of activities, a short drive from the touristy La Fortuna. Loved every minute of it!
“Would go back in a heartbeat”
We had a great time and found the staff to be friendly and extremely helpful. The concierge service was great, explaining what was involved in each adventure to help you make the right choice. The grounds are phenomenal, flowers and birds are around you at all times. You have a great view of the volcano at all times. The restaurant was pretty good especially the sea bass dishes. Breakfast was decent, what you would expect for a standard buffet style breakfast.
“Loved it!”
It was beautiful beyond our expectations!
“Nice hotel, great service”
We checked in to the hotel with two other couples - each in our own rooms. The hotel's grounds are lovely and the animals and birds are plentiful. It was cloudy when we arrived so we had no idea of the proximity to the volcano. But, that evening as we ate an excellent dinner at the hotel's restaurant we heard a big boom and then saw a good sized flow of lava going down the mountain - even closer than we had anticipated. There were several smaller eruptions that evening. During the day the volcano was clouded over most of the time, but each night we got a show. It was very cool to lay in bed and watch the lava. The concierge was amazing - he gave us good recommendations and booked us at Baldi and the onsite spa. At his recommendation my spouse and I took the horseback ride through the onsite barn and loved it. It was just the two of us and the guide and a young boy. The views were amazing and we got closer to the volcano than we could have hoped. The horses were in good shape and our guide pointed out lots of wildlife and plants as we went along. He was very patient as we practiced our spanish on him! This place isn't fancy, but it's nice. The rooms could use some updating, but they are more than adaquate. The spa is gorgeous and well priced, but the treatments were average. The food is good and plentiful with free breakfast. We would definitely recommend this hotel to any friends or family planning to stay in La Fortuna.
“Quiet, serene hotel”
Okay, so coming from San Diego in the spring time (around 65 degrees) to Arenal took some adjustment. The weather was about 85 degrees with 100% humidity. That was difficult. Other than the weather adjustment, Arenal was beautiful! The hotel was quiet, tranquil. On most days, my husband and I were the only ones in the pool at the swim up bar. Their restaurant (which included a great breakfast) overlooked the volcano, which erupted every single night we were there. I would go back, miss it already!
“Very Nice!”
A beautiful place to stay. It had a great pool, great view, and humming birds everywhere.
“Arenal Adventure”
Arenal Springs Resort was great. The price was good and the staff were excellent. One thing that I liked best is that most of the staff speaks English and they were willing to help us in any way they could. For those who are planning and excursion, I would recommend talking with Selime. He pointed us to areas that were absolutely breath taking. Because of Selime, we were able to get pictures of the volcano peak with no clouds around. From what I understand, this was a rare opportunity. The only bad thing about Arenal springs is that we had to leave.
