" Good, quiet, simple hotel, comfortable and cheap."
Having never been to Lisbon, we booked this hotel based on the balance of it being quite cheap, and not too far from the centre, compared with other hotels in the same price bracket. In the end, it was a success on both counts.
It was quick and easy to check in. The staff were efficient and friendly, there were no problems at all. Our room was large, had a balcony (though I don't think this is standard), was clean, had a large clean bathroom, and a very large and comfortable bed (also very clean). It was simple and not flash, but certainly excellent value for money. I had feared much, much less and was extremely satisfied with what we got. At night it was quiet and the air conditioning worked exactly as it should. It was secure with a safe in the room that seemed to work as it should. We didn't have any food in the hotel, nor did we use the hotel's gym facilities, so I can't comment on those.
We walked into the centre of the city from the hotel every day, and it wasn't far, about 15 minutes at a decent pace. We came home each night at about 11pm, and the area seemed still perfectly quiet and safe.
I have to say, I was extremely impressed with all aspects of our stay there, and would consider it again should the same concerns (price/location) be present.
