great location

just 10 mins walk from ardara town. A lovely hotel with loads of character inside the main house, & the adjacent building has the advantage of large rooms which open out onto patios or balconies. Beautiful rose gardens & very peaceful. Breakfast was lovely & all staff were extremely helpful & friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Internet reception was poor - internet is as important as toilets and running water!

Beautiful countryside setting close to cute town

Posted 26-May-2014 on Hotels.com
Great location for exploring Slieve League. Set in pretty, well-maintained gardens next to a field with sheep, and yet still very close to cute, quaint village of Ardara. Staff gave excellent suggestion for nearby pub for dinner. Room was comfortable and clean, albeit a bit cold/impersonal. Breakfast was delicious.

A lovely place for a quiet getaway.

Had a very good one night stay with exceedingly friendly and professional hosts. Had a beautiful room looking out on the country garden. The only negatives - the electric jug didn't work (nnoticed in the morning before leaving) and am sure it would have been fixed immediately). Had some problems with the water tap in the basin (from no hot water to no cold water) but the shower was fine.Would definitely stay there again. Such a beautiful setting.

A Special Experience

Posted 15-May-2014
Pros: The situation, the accommodation, the service.
Cons: The TV is dated with poor range of programmes. Internet access suffers from the thickness and construction of the walls, it being an ancient building.
Location: Easy access to Ardara Town, and the surrounding area: hills and sea.
A really good experience. Good spacious accommodation with patio and garden access. Beautiful scenery. Facilities good. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Good range of choices for breakfast.

Country House Charm

Posted 19-Mar-2014 on Hotels.com
Family run country house hotel in great location just a 1/4 of a mile stroll outside the village of Ardara. Very warm welcome from John and he was very helpful with regard to things to do and see in the area. Given a large room with a garden view. Room was cold but problem soon fixed. Great food all freshly cooked. Lots of antiques and bric aback scattered about but it all adds to the charm. Would recommend for a quiet getaway. Plenty of pubs in the village with live music and great for the "craic"

Woodhill House

Posted 09-Sep-2013
Great place. Just a few minutes walk from pubs, etc. at Ardara, but offers tremendous peace and quiet if that's what you're after. Also good restaurant and bar at Woodhill itself, but real autonomy and privacy in the room we were staying in, and opening out on to lovely gardens. Highly recommended.

Spacious and comfortable

Posted 03-Sep-2013 on Hotels.com
Our appartment was very spacious and had a patio onto a very nicely kept shared garden. Very clean as you'd expect and a very good Irish breakfast was provided. Very convenient - a 5 minute walk from the main street in Ardara with plenty of pubs, places to eat, spar etc. Very friendly staff and the House is in a beatiful setting.
