This Sofitel is relatively new, we know - we watched it being built down the road from our home. We were excited to try it out and it is as impressive as it looks on the outside. It is stands out from other hotels in Dubai with its individual French Polynesian style. The staff are wonderfully welcoming and always have smiles. And the layout of the hotel is fantastic for everyone, from a family with children, to a couple wanting privacy, to groups travelling together; the hotel rooms and villas are set out in clusters giving you the amount of privacy or exposure that you require as a holiday maker...we really liked that about the hotel!
Our only complaint would be the condition of the rooms for such a new hotel. We understand this has more to do with the treatment by other hotel patrons than the standard of the hotel - it is easy to see, people do not care or respect property when it is not their own. Nevertheless, it was a little disappointing that the upholstery items such as sofas and seat cushions were stained and dirty.
Overall though, a very nice experience.

From the minute we entered the hotel we were treated very well, every single one of our needs was met. We stayed in the suite and it was lovely clean and spacious. We never had to lift a finger even on the beach or by the pool. The spa was amazing too, overall a relaxing and VIP feel to the whole holiday.
Very nice well run hotel. Excellent staff in all departments. Fantastic sized rooms with fully fitted kitchens and laundry rooms. The hotel bars and restaurants are very expensive but on the hole the quality is good and the service is faultless. Beach BBQ is very poor and very expensive avoid this.
Due to location it is sometimes difficult to get a taxi. Do not take the Lexus cars that are offered they are a rip off. This applies to everywhere in Dubai. If you have to,agree a set fare before starting your journey and do not use the meter. Our teenage daughter and her friend were charged 200 dirhams for a trip fom the Dubai mall to the hotel !
Fantastic hotel!! Only a short drive from the airport (about 20/25mins)!! On arrival the staff were very helpful with check in and informing us about facilities etc! Room was huge and gorgeous!! Large balcony, huge bathtub and seperate walk in shower!! So much space throughout the whole room...luxury!! Hotel had 6 lifts so never had to wait to get places!! The pool and beach area were very clean and beds weren't on top of each other!! The pool/beach staff were fab...helpful and brought us drinks and food quickly!! The view from the beach was gorgeous...right into the sea, and Dubai towers etc!! Breathtaking!!
The brunch at flow restaurant on the Friday was amazing and well worth the visit and money!! Food was fantastic and mojito's were yummy!!
We didn't eat at any other restaurants at went out into Dubai every night to eat and explore but can imagine the food in the restaurants would be fab!!
