“Ideal for public transport”

Hotel is a old Holiday Inn there price always includes breakfast which was very nice. The rooms although a little dated are large and quiet. Getting into Antwerp is easy there is a bus stop for the 244 bus (every 30min) direct to the centre journey time 10min, other buses and a tram are also nearby. The olny problem we had was with the keycard which didn't work once also there is only 2 lifts. Otherwise good hotel that we would stay again in.

Getting around
you can get a 5 day Bus/Tram ticket for all Flanders area for just €15 it's valid in Gent, Brugge and Ostende too as well as many other places (not valid on trains though) look up De Lijn on the internet.
Must see
have a trip walking through the pedestrian tunnel to the other side of the river you can get a tram back

“Micks trip to Antwerp”

Decent hotel but quite away from the centre, trams run to within half a mile from the hotel. Was dissapointed that the hotel asks for a 60 euro deposit with all bookings to cover things like pay tv

Area recommendations
Close to central station, very lively, lots of bars and restaurants

“Good hotel if you go by car, less so if by train/plane”

Good price. Breakfast choice better than some. One needs a car or someone to drop you and collect you from the hotel (e.g. friend or taxi) as public transport options are not too good.

Area recommendations
Near the Central station if travelling by public transport. Near the ring road if by car.

“Never again”

This is an over rated hotel - deserves a 3 star. The hotel from outside is not of a 4 star standard - old and tired - painting will enhance the look. The front desk folks were not very welcoming - - only interested in the business. When we enquired about a late afternoon snack - the barmen put his hand up to make sandwhiches - - not my expectation of a 4 star hotel. At breaksfast - only one waiter was available - water was not replaced in time/limited breakfast menu. It was a repeat during supper - only one waiter - supper is expensive - not much is offered for the price. The hotel is away from the city centre - - taxi costs around 10-15 euros for a short trip. The hotel will enhance it's business if does some renovations.

Area recommendations
The city centre is a hive of activity - - good vibe - - lots of restaurants.

“Super hotel”

Excellent facilities. Good swimming pool & sauna. Super bar, and good restaurant. Very helpful reception staff.

Area recommendations
Old town is very interesting . The Scandic is far enough away to be undisturbed by the bustle, and close enough to make sightseeing easy, by bus or taxi. Also very close to Antwerp Airport.

“Good location”

This hotel is situated in good location when you travel with car and easy access with tram to the centre from the hotel. Also good to stay for visit to Brugge, it takes only 1 hour to Brugge (by car). We enjoyed Antwerpen and Brugge as well staying this hotel.

“Average business hotel”

Rather dull but ok hotel for business use conveniently located alonside the ring of Antwerp. Not impressesed to have to pay substantial fee for parking in the hotel car park. Rstaurant was very soulless but the food was ok. Check in and check out was pretty slow and unwelcoming but overall did the job ok as a convenient overnight stop. Not the same standard as their hotels in Sweden and Denmarl

“OK but not great”

We picked this hotel on the recommendation of others on Expedia, but couldn't readily see why. As a budget hotel it was quite acceptable, and the price was reasonable enough. But it looked as if it needed a good refurbishment and upgarding of facilities. The room was OK, but not great, and my big bugbear was that although we had what was billed as a non-smoking room, there had obviously been smokers there before because the gap between the inner french window door and the balcony contained dog ends and ash - which had obviously been there some time. It would have only taken a minute to vacuum it out. We also booked because it had a swimming pool and a gym etc. We didn't try the gym - it looked rather pathetic. The pool was an awkward shape - probably OK for small children but no good for swimming in. The steam room didn't work properly (and was only supposed to be on from a certain time in the evening, and the sauna had to be pre-advised to be switched on. The area was not maintained well either. So these facilities were disappointing. The restaurant area was also not inviting - dead with no atmosphere. However, the breakfast was served in the same area and it was good (price included in the room rate). But we liked Antwerp very much.

Traveller's tip
A few others had advised walking to the tram stop to get into town. We found bus 244 was more convenient in the sense that there was less distance to walk, and was faster, albeit that it only ran every half hour, so you need to check the times.

“Hotel dicht bij snelweg, met een taxi binnen 15 min naar het centrum”

Voor een 4 sterren hotel vilen de volgende zaken een beetje tegen: - beetje slonsige sauna - pay tv wordt aangeboden maar werkt niet - ontbijt biedt geen speciale dingen, beetje standaard Prijs/kwaliteit verhouding is wel een 8

Area recommendations
grote markt, lekker eten, gezellig, goed shoppen

“Gut erreichbares Hotel nahe der Autobahn”

Alles in allem war ich mit dem Hotel zufrieden. Schlafen mit geöffnetem Fenter ist aber leider unmöglich, da das Hotel in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Autobahn liegt. Der Service bei der Ankunft war nicht sehr freundlich, was aber offensichtlich nur an dieser einen Person/Servicekraft lag. Insgesamt war das Hotel für eine Geschäftsreise gut und durchaus emofehlenswert.
