“Excellent location, good stuff... I am totally satisfied”

Excellent location, good stuff... I am totally satisfied. Rooms are big, clean... Hotel is near main train station. Stuff is excellent.

“Budget Hotel in Antwerp”

I have stayed many times in Empire Hotel, Antwerp and every time i notice decline in quality of the hotel. This hotel needs major renovation from carpets in room to bathroom fixtures and sanitary to lifts, even the telephone sets look like from least 20 years old. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and nice spoken. Breakfast menu needs some addtion, preferbly some waffels or pan cakes.

“Good location”

Overall good hotel, good location within the city. The room was comfortable and the breakfast buffet was very good - a good spread of breads, meats, cheeses, and cereal. The bathroom could have been cleaner (some mold on the shower tiles) and the towels were small, but no big deal. They don't have a lot of staff - the same person working the front desk also brought our extra towels and pillows when requested. Also, if the person at the front desk leaves for any reason, they will lock the front door and you'll be stuck outside until they return (happened in the morning when I went for a run). Also, while they say that internet access is available, it's for a fee of something like $15 Euro a day. However, if you go down to the McDonalds down the street, you can use wireless internet for free (the hotel staff knows where it is - they told me about it).

“Disappointing”

They double-charged the city taxes, which I just found out 3 days later when reading once more the reservation description. At least they gave me my money back. When we got to the room in the first day, the fridge was in the hallway and broken. We asked to replace it, but they said it was impossible. We asked to change rooms, same answer. The fridge sat in the hall until the end of out stay. The carpet of room, the hall and the elevator looked extremely dirty. The window was dusty and the balcony was so dirty that we didn't dare to step on it. Breakfast was very good and the beds were comfortable. The room size was large compared to average room sizes in Europe.

“Travel to Antwerp”

Price/service relation very good. The Hotel will go through some renovation in the very near future. If going back to Antwerp, we will going back. Great breackfast buffet.

“Very pleasant stay”

This hotel has a good location near the central station and provided me with a very comfortable stay. The room was very large. The breakfast was particularly good for a hotel in its class. The only problem I had was getting hot water in the bathroom - in the morning it was fine, but it the evening I had to run the hot tap for ages before it became warm.

“Budget hotel”

This hotel is located very close to the diamond district in Antwerp. Also close to several restaurants, movie theatre, shopping district, and train station. This is more of budget style hotel.

“Huge Room”

Friendly staff on reception. Good size bedroom (I've seen 5-a-side football pitches smaller). Booked in advance it was an excellent deal including buffet breakfast. Location good if you travelling by train to Antwerp Centraal, or flying into or from Antwerp Airport. Old town is 15 minutes walk away. Buffet breakfast was cold meats, breads, fruit, cereal and yoghurts. Plus hot options were: Day One: - Small sausages, scrambled eggs & Potato swirls. Day Two (not as good, alas) : - Scrambled & Boiled Eggs, bean sprouts with cucumber. Not a mega luxurious place, but good for a bargain break.

“Fine for a short stay”

Hotel is close to station and in a seemingly safe part of town. My room was clean and the bed comfortable. Shower was poor-head did not stay up- and hot water was a bit intermittent. The public areas are functional but very tired.To me it was a clean 2 star, but not a four star. personnel were friendly and breakfast was fine.
