“So low-key. Exactly what we were looking for!”
We just returned from a stay at Coconut Beach Club. It was amazing. The staff were so friendly. Clifton, Tanza, Raynold, Samantha, everyone we came in contact with was so helpful and always smiling. The beach was beautiful. We LOVED that it was such an intimate setting. If you are looking for a glitzy or large resort, this is not it. However, if you want a relaxing, casual and laid back resort, this it the place to go. Would go back in a heartbeat!
“Relaxing with family”
First of all the hotel is rated three star and so one should keep that in mind. The majority of the staff are extremely pleasant, Bernadette and Cotton to name a couple. Dinner was always excellent, several things to choose from off the menu each evening and something different offered for all of the eight evenings we were there. Lunch was also very good with a variety of choices served up each day. Breakfast was the standard bacon and sausages, etc. Oh there is also tea in the afternoon. The beach is excellent, overall very clean and great for swimming, walking and just lazing around. The pool is very pleasant but there aren't any chaises around it. generally the resort is very quiet during the day, most people reading etc. with guests congregating around the bar in the evening. The rooms are basic and as they mention in the website no phones or TVs which was fine with us. However the bed linen and towels had seen better days. They all looked as though they have been around for quite a while. Overall if you don't need a lot of frills but enjoy good food, a great beach and peace and quiet I would recommend it especially for the price. However if you like entertainment and five star rooms etc. this may not be for you. Most people were probably in their forties on up while we were there and it is very popular with the Brits. We went for a family get together there so it fit everyone's budget and worked out perfectly for us.
“Coconut Beach Club is relaxing...”
Very friendly and courteous staff...awesome location on the beach. Very relaxed atmosphere.
“If you want to enjoy isolation with great food, this is the place”
The location is far from the typical tourist areas so don't expect to find yourself surrounded by shops, restaurants, or nightly entertainment. We saw plenty of free-roaming cattle and goats. But, if what you want is quiet isolation with a lovely beach and your own hammock, this is the place for you. Most of the guests were British tourists. The dinners were the highlight of each day: well prepared with inventive combinations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was basic but clean. I would go back, but my husband prefers more things to do.
“can't wait to go back”
The best vacation we have taken. Loved the hotel, the service and the people. The beach was private and lovely.
“return visit”
2nd visit in 3 years. Within 24hrs totally relaxed and felt like we had been there much longer. Everyone welcoming and nothing to much trouble. Able to retain room on departure day to late afternoon with no fuss. Food better than remembered and plenty of choice. Room very comfortable and now has mini fridge and coffee machine. Amazingly relaxing sitting looking at the beach/sea and passing cruise liners. This place is a haven from the frantic pace of one's usual life and in a short week the benefits of doing absolutely nothing are wonderful. The new pool is OK but it has not enhanced the atmosphere and most returning guests seemed unimpressed.
“Not What I Expected.”
This is a great place if you want to "Get away from it all".. No TV in your room, No phone in your room. Free WiFi if you can balance on one leg standing in the lobby as close to the office as you can get. Even then it is a poor signal. The beach is great and the food was excellent but not always available which is not what I expected for an all inclusive resort. Breakfast lunch and dinner, if you miss any or come late you are out of luck. Nothing is within walking distance unless you like to hike 5 miles to the store. Overall, not what I was expecting.
“Quaint, Quiet and beautiful!”
We spent 8 days at this resort for our 10 Year anniversary (Nov. 25-Dec4, 2010) and it was absolutely everything we had hoped for and more. It was very quaint and it gave us a true "Caribbean feel". The pictures on the website are outdated as they have a new pool and dining area, which are beautiful. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The setting is stunning and the food was really good. There are no kids allowed, so it was very quiet and it being a smaller resort, it was not crowded or loud by any means. There was always another couple or two at the bar, if you felt like chatting but otherwise you can enjoy a peaceful, quiet trip to yourselves. The beach, although rough water the time of year we went, was beautiful. A constant wind to keep the bugs away and always lots of sunshine. The rooms are very basic, no frills, but are comfortable and the deck chairs and hammock give a peaceful setting to an amazing view of the beach and water. Constant waves to help rock you to sleep at night too! I love this resort and I will recommend it to anyone going to Antigua that is looking for a quiet oasis on a beautiful beach with amazing staff. But, beware of the rum punch!! :)
“Great little quiet hotel”
The Coconut Beach Club claimed to be a quiet hotel for adults and that's exactly what it was (apart from on the last day when 5 kids appeared - why??) My 3 grown-up kids (ages 22, 20 and 16) and I had a really relaxing time on the almost-deserted beach, and the staff were wonderful. The only minor disappointment was the out-of-action sailing dinghy - which I mentioned to the manager at his cocktails evening. But the all-inclusive food was excellent, the Chilean wine ok, and the inclusive bar drinks were absolutely fine. Overall a great little budget hotel!
“Great Holiday!”
This is a middle priced hotel with a secluded privat beach wich has a lot of umbrella and sunlounger. The staff is working very hard to keep the hotel clean. The rooms are ok but need some updating. We chose breakfast only but soon we realized that the all inclusive is a better deal and they were happy to do the upgrate. The staff is friendly, the food is good, overall: thumb's up!
