“absolutely awesome”
Cocobay was great.. The service from the hotel employees and management was superb. The breakfast was pretty good and the lunch was certainly not bad either but dinner was INCREDIBLE every night. We had dinner at Sheer Rocks one night and it was also unbelievable. The staff was so incredibly friendly, and the resort and the views were gorgeous. We were surprised with a complimentary upgrade upon our arrival as well as 2 glasses of rum punch (very tasty). Our stay was absolutely above and beyond our expectations and we're looking forward to our next trip to Cocobay!
“Best vacation ever!”
Our vacation was so peaceful and so relaxing. The staff is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend getting a room with a pool just because it adds to the experience, although im sure it great without it too. We will definitely be back next year!
“Would definitely return”
We recently got back from our honeymoon at Cocobay resort. Overall, wonderful and we highly recommend it. We too had read reviews which were less than stellar - I believe from a few years ago. It fit us perfectly - the majority of the reviews were spot on. It is not a glitzy pampering type of resort. It is a little rustic but as comfortable as we needed. The food was quite good, but I'm sure there is better out there, at greater cost. The beaches were perfect - very little development and not busy at all. The aura of the place is quiet and friendly, gorgeous and unaffected. We loved it.
“Terrible, will not go back; save your money”
The Cocobay Hotel is awful. It is run down, needs complete renovation and actually, demolition and new construction would be better. The "All Inclusive" food was not good at all; it was "Fill 'em up" pasta, rice, potatoes carbs and lunches offered some sort of grilled fish. Dinners were not much better and the wine was horrible. After the 4th night we couldn't eat the food any longer and went out to dinner next door at Sheer Rocks. The bed was invested with fleas and no amount of fumigating cleared it up and a room change was no better. The staff was friendly but non-caring and the location was remote. There were bugs in all the rooms, the towels were small and cheap and grounds were overgrown. We were ready to go home after a few days. We have traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean and this was easily the worst. Don't waste your money.
“Beautiful location; great pool”
I loved the hotel because I just wanted to relax and enjoy the island. It is one of the most beautiful views in the Caribbean from an infinity pool overlooking the crystal blue water. The service is great...friendly people. It is not a great hotel for single travelers...I was the only one there...and is more geared for couples. It is an all-inclusive resort, so included all meals, which I also personally don't like. I enjoy riding around the island and exploring other places, but felt I was losing money if I didn't eat lunch or dinner at the resort.
“Can't imagine there is much better value in Antigua”
Booked on the understanding from previous reviews that this is a low-tech relaxation resort, it met all of our expectations and in terms of views, service and food, exceeded them. The local beaches are excellent. Do wear insect repellent from day one though.
“Perfect getaway”
I just vacationed in cocobay and wished i would have stayed longer it was the most relaxing and beautiful place , i am already planning on returning back i recommend cocobay to everyone its gorgeous and the food is great !
“Great Trip!”
We had a great trip and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Cocobay. The staff was friendly, the grounds are well kept, and the location is amazing. I would recommend bringing a watch or clock because there are no clocks in the room and it can be hard to keep track of meal times. The location of the hotel is lovely, however it isn't particularly convenient to anything else. If you're interested in exploring the island, I would recommend renting a car because the taxis can become quite expensive. Bring bug spray! The mosquitos are viscious and I was covered in bites by the end of the trip! We had a great time and definitely recommend it!
“Antiguan Paradise”
CocoBay Hotel is a collection of small but comfotable chalets overlooking the sea and with a beautiful beach to one side. The staff were wonderful, the location great and the food above average. We would have no hesitation in going back.
“Definitely will go back.”
Beautiful location on a headland. Individual cabins with views - each has a great verandah with hammock and deck chairs. Beach is right there. Small number of guests so quiet, intimate, romantic. Food was excellent.
