Nice hotel, close to the Digby ferry.

Posted 25-Jun-2015
Pros: Closeness to the ferry, view of the bay and the restaurant attached.
Cons: Nothing really. It was fine.
Location: Took the noon ferry from St. John. This was perfect. Close to downtown Digby. Enjoyed driving into town to see the "highest tide" in the world. Very i
Only stayed one night while on our way from St. John to Halifax. It was a great choice.

Having never been to Digby, we booked this hotel with the helpful reviews of previous patrons. What a fabulous spot! As most others have said, location, location, location! I reccommend dishing out a little more cash for the upgraded suites ( 2 beds and a balcony, facing the water ) -- it is well worth it. We arrived after dark but were blown away by the view in the morning! The restaurant was closed on the evening we arrived and the morning we awoke however, it also faces the beautiful basin and if you have the chance to wake up and eat your meal overlooking that scene I can imagine nothing more than a wonderful experience! Margaret ( the front desk agent ) was pleasant and informative! Thanks Admiral Digby, for the wonderful hospitality and the lasting impression!

Excellent for catching ferry to NB

Posted 10-Oct-2014
Pros: Location; staff.
Cons: Beds are not comfortable for two people
Location: Beautiful view of Digby basin. Almost next door to ferry terminal. Digby itself is a few minutes away and is a charming Nova Scotia town.
A basic, reliable rather old-style motel three minutes from the ferry to NB. Double beds are comfortable as singles but not doubles. Always clean.

Cute place. Our refrigerator needed fixing as it kind of "rumbled" internally and things on top were knocked off. Nice view through telephone wires. Quiet.

Beautiful view and conveniently near the ferry.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. It was also very nice to have a laundry on the premises. The rooms were clean and well equipped though the beds were a little too firm to our liking. The hotel is located within sight of the Digby/St John ferry, facilitating an early morning departure. Breakfast was minimal, coffee and toast or English Muffin.
