“Only if you have to”
Would not stay unless trapped and needed room - attached restaurant a joke service and quality below average - room towels (1 per guest) small bars of soap disappear before your eyes - no remote in room for TV -overpriced for football weekend
“A nice hotel that doesn't show its age”
Great 2-night stay at the Red Roof at Plymouth Road. Although the hotel from the outside looks aged, the rooms were very clean with zero mold/tobacco smell. Service is just nice, with capable and pleasant personnel. Big Boy hot breakfast included is hard to beat, even if the choices are frugal. In all likelihood, I will stay here again next time I visit Ann Arbor.
“standard room great service”
Definitely not the nicest hotel in the area. But the desk help couldn't have been nicer and the free breakfast at big boy was a nice touch on a Sunday morning. Everything was clean no complaints.
“Very friendly and helpful staffs made me very comfortable staying there”
I stayed here for 5 days attending a course at Ann Arbor hospital. The staffs were very helpful and friendly, There is a shuttle service to main hospitals in the city, The draw backs were, no public transport system nearby hence needed a tai to go everywhere including main malls which coasts around $24 one way and $14 to the city centre and the free food token is valid for only 2 or three items including tea coffee or drinks and any extra hat to be paid hence it is misleading.
“Very tired”
Rooms are worn looking - old carpet, bedding, etc. However, staff was friendly and convenient location to the university. Room was clean, even though in need of updating.
“Pet friendly”
Very friendly staff. Excellent rates.
“Overall descent hotel”
It was pretty nice.
“Someplace to sleep”
The room was ok. Beds lacked support and housekeeping stopped by to deliver new towels but that was about it. If you're looking for a room that you'll only be in for sleeping then this is that place. On the other hand, if you want a room you want to relax in then spring for another hotel. Also, the front desk staff, while nice, were annoyingly slow for check-in/out.
“Open to the elements!”
This hotel is the type of place with rooms entered from outdoors. In winter, your door is exposed to the cold, rain, and snow. My room door had a very strong draft coming under it, and having the heater fan on High constantly made for a very uncomfortable and noisy one night. I switched hotels after my first night (reserved for five nights) and went to a place with normal indoor corridors and insulation from the winter. Expedia agents helped process the cancellation for my remaining nights. Otherwise, the room was fine -- clean and respectable.
“You get what you pay for”
Very low-budget hotel. Safe location, but very dim-lit rooms that open to the outside. Feels very unsafe. At night, lobby is not even open - you give your money through glass to the hotel employee. Not a great 1st impression.
