“Comfortable and clean”

I have stayed at many of the higher rated hotels in Ankara, but this wasn't a favorite of mine. The pros: It's convenient, comfortable and fairly clean. The hotel staff is nice enough and room service was prompt. Food was ok too. Free wireless internet (but poor signal). The cons: The rooms could use a little work. My "double" room for my fiance and I consisted of 2 super twin beds pushed together to create MAYBE a queen. On the bed was just a fitted sheet and a down comforter in an open duvet cover that was way too small for the bed. So it didn't cover my fiance and I and there was no sheet. The room didn't have a coffee pot. I had to pay 10 lira every day to get coffee or tea at the hotel. The description also states there are balconies. This is true, but only on the inside. There are no balconies for any of the rooms with access to the outside. Then the surprise at checkout that I needed to pay for an "extra" person in my room at the tune of 90 eruos. Also, it's quite noisy at the hotel. Trash trucks outside picking up trash late nights, 1-2 tour buses coming and going early, and cars honking their horns non stop (I guess this a common thing for Turkey). But the hotel walls don't do much to keep the noise out, even with the windows closed. Overall the Hotel Midi is a decent place to stay, but there are other large chain hotels that offer a lot more and don't charge for an extra person. I can't say no one should stay here, but I myself wouldn't go back.

“Det har jeg valgt igen. For tredje gang.”

Nydeligt hotel, bestemt 4½*. Roligt beliggende, men alligevel tæt på trafikerede veje, shopping og restauranter, hvis man hellere gå ud end benytte hotellets restaurant, som har et glimrende køkken med tyrkisk mad. Der er ikke-ryger værelser. Værelserne er pæne og store med stor dobbeltseng, 2 lænestole og et sofabord, samt en udmærket skriveplads med skrivebordslampe. Der er køleskab med minibar; indbygget safeboks. Nydeligt badeværelse.

Area recommendations

Hotel Midi er beliggende i Cankaya, som ligger i Ankara Centrum. Cankaya er beliggende på en højde med udsigt over store dele af Ankara. Har endnu ikke fået set noget af byen, men der er resterne af en gammel borg nær centrum og museum om hitit-tiden. På toppen af højdedraget ligger kommunikationstårnet Atakule med en roterende restaurant og flot udsigt.
