“Great hotel.”
What can I say clean, comfortable, superb facilities and all at the right price.
“Very nice”
The hotel was central to the main town area, walking distance to most attractions, and very close to the Unicorn ship, which was great to see. The view from our room was great and having a DVD player was a nice touch. The icing on the cake was the little rubber duckie in the bathroom though!
“Apex Hotel Dundee Angus Scotland best hotel in Dundee we were very impressed”
Great hotel we were very impressed with our room and very close to the centre of the city. We had a great time and could recommend it to anybody
“Dundee's best hotel!”
The hotel room is very comfortable and spacious and allows you free internet access as well as the usual TV with freeview channels, tea/coffee making facilities etc. The hotel also offers a spa area where there is a pool, jacuzzis, sauna and steam rooms which are very relaxing to experience. The food is good too, I especially recommend the cooked breakfast.
“Excellent hotel”
Enjoyed our stay in Dundee. Room overlooking the Quay was spacious, clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Staff polite and helpful
“Love it”
This is just a great hotel. Having travelled far and wide and with slightly lower expectations of my home country (typical Scottish attitude!), I'm always surprised when I stay here. The rooms are luxurious, beds incredibly large and comfortable and the spa is superb - don't consider anywhere else, if you're in Dundee, stay here!
“Overall nice place to stay and loved the rubber duckies!!”
Our City King Room was very comfortable. Adequate space for one night. Good bathroom with separate walk in shower. For the contemporary style and standard of the hotel we would have expected a flat screen TV in the bedroom. The widescreen tv felt bulky and old fashioned. Liked the pool - not huge but okay for lap swimming. Hot tubs were nice and deep and there was also a steam room and sauna. The adjoining gym was well stocked with good quality Technogym equipment. Only real complaint was with breakfast service. When we arrived person 'checking' guests in for breakfast was speaking to a colleague on the phone about rotas and made us wait nearly 5 minutes before she finally asked someone else who was passing to deal with us! I would have understood if she had been speaking to guest but she very clearly was not. Then to make matters worse when we checked our statement they had double charged us for breakfast - once at the (slightly) reduced rate offered and accepted at check in and again at the full price. Same thing happened to family who were also staying at the hotel. Didn't try any other food in the hotel but what we saw being served in the bar area looked very appetising. Would eat there if had the chance. Cocktails were reasonably priced and tasted good - would recommend their Cosmopolitans. Overall good but they just need to be more careful with billing and service!
“Perfect!”
The Apex was quite simply perfect! The room was luxurious, spotlessly clean and well stocked with refreshments, towels and toiletries each day. The staff were friendly but not overfriendly. The pool and spa were first class and the hotel's location meant great views and easy access to all of Dundee. Hope to stay there again!
“Lovely hotel, very expensive for what it is”
The hotel itself was lovely, When we arrived went to the room ,went for a drink in the bar only to be given a dirty glass was'nt a good start.Thought the room was very expensive .
“Lovely hotel & staff, very comfortable, shame about the toiletries penny-pinching & wifi”
Having stayed in Apex London (booked exactly the same way in the same standard of room) a couple of weeks ago and knowing that the bathroom toiletries were Elemis (VG quality according to my wife), she travelled a bit lighter and didn't take anything of her own of these items. She noticed that there was no body lotion & hair conditioner in the room and when I asked I was told "not all rooms have all the usual Apex toiletries". They reluctantly coughed up the items when I told them about the London hotel experience, but this I thought a little penny-pinching. Our stay was very comfortable, the room was lovely and the staff very pleasant and even though the wifi was very poor (we were on the top floor at the very end of a corridor), the thing which annoyed most was the toiletries issue. Some might think this petty, but common standards across hotel chains are very important to most people I believe.
