“Great place to Stay”

While not a venue of the Fairmont Royal York Toronto standard, for a hotel in Anchorage it was great. The staff were friendly and the food was fine.

“Okay place to stay in Anchorage”

The hotel foyer and lobby look tired and outdated. Not enough staff at desk for checkin, always a wait. Rooms needed refurbishing; cheap bedspreads and some stains on rugs. Excellent location for quick walk to surrounding restaurants. Good price for downtown.

Must see

Anchorage Museum--should be named Alaska Museum. Smithsonian exhibit on native cultures is excellent. Photos in upstairs gallery were interesting but hard to see because of glare from windows on opposite wall. Great gift shop.

“Great location”

Enjoyed the surrounding shops and restaurants. People mover area a little shady but convenient if you need it. Lower floors a little loud due to traffic below, but really enjoyed the balcony.

“Great hotel with a great location”

This is the first hotel I stayed in, in downtown Anchorage and I wasn't disappointed. The rooms are nice and big, the staff is friendly and you can't beat the location. I only stayed one night and wish I had booked my whole stay here.. plus the hotel restaurant is very convenient.

“Great central location to all downtown dining and shops.”

The location was the primary reason I chose this hotel. I wanted to be in walking distance from all the dining options in downtown. Great spot.

“Great downtown location”

We enjoyed our stay. Nice hotel in a great downtown location. Parking was somewhat problematic.

“Great experience”

This hotel is an excellent location for those traveling without access to an automobile. We were able to walk to our activities easily. The on site restaurant was very good, and convenient. Out room offered an excellent view of downtown Anchorage, and the surrounding scenery.

Shopping

Fifth Avenue Mall has many nice shops, and food court for quick eating. There is also a postal station in case you need to send home unexpected purchases.

“not impressed anymore”

1st, my key would not open the door-new key was made.2nd ,the toilett did not flush-maintance was called.3rd ,the room seemed not clean,stains on the floor,stains on bathroom door.they were still there the day of my departure

“Not my first choice for downtown Anchorage”

Location is good and parking is about 1/2 the other big hotels downtown. Older building with inconsistent cleanliness.
