“Not going again.”

Provide bad service because you book through Expedia.

“This was a hilton?”

I was extremely disatisfyed with our stay here. We requested a nonsmoking room. Which we got but the bathroom reeked of cigarette smoke. Like the last guest had JUST smoked in there. besides that, the bathroom was outdated and water was not hot enough. My hotel key stopped working twice so I got locked out of the side door of the building and had to walk all the way around in the cold and dark. then again locked out of my room. In the same night! The lamp shade kept falling off the lamp. They were painting the pool area. We had our 1 yr old and 2 yr old so the cigarette smell in the room then the paint smell was very disheartening. We told the front desk about our issues. They were very apologetic and nice. Even offered to send a gift certificate to our room. Problem is they never actually gave us one. The location was convenient but did not feel safe. We will not be staying here again.

“My Impression”

For the cost I wasn't impressed. The place looks very nice, staff is helpful but, I lost a meal in a non working refrigerator and shuttle service offered for shopping was scheduled at very inconvient times. The restaraunt on the premises was high priced and very low quality. The room cleaning was good but forgot to leave me any coffee for the in room pot. All in all at the price I paid I will try another place next time.

“this works out just fine”

The hotel is pretty busy because it is central in location and middle of the price range. The room was nicer than I expected and the bed was very comfortable. Biggest issue is lack of parking, especially when with snow reduces size of some parking spots. The hotel is located in the middle of a restaurant area, but all the other parking areas are signed for their parking only. I smelled strong chlorine in the hall on my way to my room from the pool area, but was relieved to find the room did not have any of the smell.

Area recommendations

always try to find time to head downtown for great food and wonderful galleries.

“Take a cab”

This hotel has parking for about 10% of rooms. I arrived in a snowstorm and it was suggested to a) park on street (by no parking between 2a-7a), b) park in nearby hotel lot, and c) park in restaurant parking lot by no overnight towing sign. Finally someone pulled out of a space. Woke up to find that the "breakfast buffet" advertised on the website was no gratis as indicated. Staff were nice. Need to fix misrepresentations in advertising. No airport shuttle either.

“I recommend the Hilton Garden Inn if you plan on staying in Anchorage.”

The hotel was in a good central location. Close to downtown, the airport and area attractions. The staff was friendly and the hotel lobby was clean and comfortable. The rooms were a good size and Queen beds make it more enjoyable. The bathroom was nice and we liked where the towel rack was located (in the shower). Easy to access when you are done. We had breakfast in the hotel. For the price you can't go wrong. You could spend a little more for eggs how you want it and some other things but I think what was offered for breakfast was enough. I would stay there again and would recommend it to others.

Area recommendations

Anchorage is a nice town with a lot of different places to visit and a lot of things to do. Driving down to Girdwood along the Turnagain Arm is a nice short trip especially the ice cream reward to enjoy in Girdwood. The animal conservation area is a bit more down the highway towards Portage and is worth it. On the other side is the Matanuska Glacier and the town of Wasilla. I highly recommend driving and flying. Cruise ships don't allow you to see the true Alaska.

“Very nice for business travel!!!”

It was very nice to have everything my team needed right there at the hotel. A very nice meeting room, restaurant, walking distance to several other restaurants, and the Manager treated us very well!

“Not a Positive Experience”

Booked these rooms in February for a July visit. Asked for connecting rooms, not followed through. We were told nothing was available even next to each other. We were given rooms somewhat across from each other but with 3 small children in our party, this didn't accomplish what we wanted or needed. The check in clerk was nice, gave us breakfast vouchers but couldn't accomodate our request made months earlier. The final blow came when they billed this prepaid room to my Visa card and it took over 10 days and multiple phone calls to get this corrected. "Oh, I'm sorry, we do this all the time. We meant to bill Expedia not you." On my next bi-annual Anchorage visit I will stay somewhere else.
