"Excellent Hotel"
Location - Although it is located out from the city but very conveniently connected by tram no.5 and buses. Hotel - Big thumb up. Bed is comfortable and adequate to accommodate 2 XL sized adults. Definitely a preferred choice of hotels in Amsterdam in view of the price tag.

"overall enjoyed our stay with a couple of **"
Interestingly we would probably stay here again, mostly due to the location. The room we were in was small and in need of attention. Our room was right on the street and I wish we would have asked to move since there was a fair amount of street noise. Not sure that I would rate this as a full 3 star hotel mostly due to the condition of the room we stayed in (bathroom was fine). Now that I know what to expect I would not be disappointed. The staff were helpful and pleasant always smiling and saying hi, answered questions and overall they did a good job. Cannot speak to the condition of other rooms just ours was in need of a little TLC.

"beautiful hotel near the museum area"
went with my daughter and granddaughter for a long week end. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel although large it was quiet (no banging doors) the staff were very attentive and although the hotel had a business feel to it the staff made a fuss of my granddaughter and she felt very special.

"Pleasant, but not worth the cost"
We had a pleasant stay at this hotel, but I don't think it was worth the price. There are many other hotels in Amsterdam at which you will get better value for money. It is in a quiet location about 30 minutes walk from the Amsterdam city centre. The tram is about 10 minutes or more walk away - so this is probably not a good place to stay if you don't want to take taxis or walk. There are laundromats, some restaurants, and a couple of grocery stores nearby. It is in a quiet location on a marina. The staff are efficient and pleasant (particularly the man at breakfast each morning). Breakfast is 20 Euros a day per person. This added up to over 250 Euros by the end of our stay. There were plenty of breads, cheeses, etc. on offer, some fruit salad, cereal, juices, and a small choice of hot foods (beans, scrambled eggs, bacon, and some small pancakes). If you don't have a huge appetite, or if you are vegetarian/vegan, it's not good value for money. Our room was somewhat dated, with some kind of wood-panelling, and painted an odd mauve colour. The bathroom was small, and the step into the bathtub/shower was high (not ideal if you have mobility problems). The bed was very soft (ideal if you like soft beds, but we prefer beds on the firmer side). We did not have any slippers or robes. Overall, this was a decent hotel, but I didn't feel it was worth the high rates.

"Haven of peace in a mad, busy city."
We had a very pleasant stay at the Adelphi Hotel. We were given the quiet room we asked for overlooking the garden and away from the traffic noise. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and although there were no tea making facilities on our room the free tea, coffee and cake available in the bar 24/7 was a very nice touch. Our only small gripe was that our request to replace a light bulb that was not working in the main light was not attended to which made the lighting rather poor.

"Great base for a family"
This apartment was spacious and clean and quiet. It was modern and well equipped including a dishwasher and washing machine. Plenty of room for a family of six. Free wi-fi was a bonus. Supermarket just down the road made self-catering very simple. Coffee and tea was provided and enough to last our stay. Plenty of hot water too. A member of staff met us on arrival and talked us through everything. We were also able to pay by credit card there which was handy. Much more convenient than having to go to a central office. Check-out was very straight forward too. The apartment was a bit out of the centre but easily accessible by trams 16 or 24. A great base to explore the city from.

"John & Suzanne's world trip"
Xaviera's is a bit left of centre. Do your research as It is not for everyone. Eclectic and a tad cluttered. Remember you are staying in somebody's home, complete with pets. Hosts are very welcoming and we loved our stay. Sorry our stay was short and we crammed in so much as we did not get to lounge about and interact more with Xaviera and Phillipe. They gave us some great tips for dining and getting about. We would stay there again.

"Great rooms! "
Our room has a super fast Internet connections which was very much appreciated! Our room was also nice and clean with all the necessary things available. The shower was a pleasure to use. Great location too! just steps to the metro station, trams and buses in Amsterdam. We really wished we had stayed there longer. The staff was very nice and helpful, they helped us figure out our three day transit pass! Would stay here again!

"So nice!"
Spacious, clean room. Nice big bathroom. Friendly staff. Location was quiet as far as street noise goes. It was a little far away from things, but the tram stop was very close so we just rode it everywhere! My only gripe is that people were so loud when they came in at night and left in the morning. I didn't know there were so many doors to slam, but they slammed them all.
