Posted 05-Nov-2014
The room was very big and bed was comfortable. It was located a little out of the city centre but its easily reached by tram.

Amsterdam hotel

Posted 03-Nov-2014
Pros: Clean. safe area
Cons: quieter rooms
Location: all attractions are not walking distance. The museum area is at this end of town
Room was clean enough but a bit old. Found it rather noisy with lots of banging doors. Rooms do not seem very sound proof and noise in hallway quite noticeable in room including 3am party crowd. Also a bit far from town center.

Very Rude, Not worth paying much

Posted 21-Oct-2014
Pros: The rooms are ok.
Cons: Staff relations to guest.
Location: Nothing is in the area, it's in the middle of nowhere and residential. No shopping or places to eat for at least a 10-15 walk.
The rooms and facilities are ok, and that's about the only kind thing I can say about this place. The hotel tries to nickel and dime you for every little thing, including trying to charge me extra for checking out of my room late w/o a courtesy call on their part. They also spoke very rudely to me and other guests from what I saw. If they tried to charge you for something that was unfair and you speak about it then they get angry and act rude. You're much better off staying somewhere MUCH closer to Centraal Amsterdam if that's where you plan on being, this place is at least 25 min by bike if you know the area, and at least 30 minutes via tram. This place definitely took away from my experience in Amsterdam. DISLIKE.

cheap budget option

Posted 19-Oct-2014
Pros: clean and nice 'getaway' / quiet neighbourhood. near the #2 train
Cons: provide a free shuttle service to and FROM the airport. Provide a few things in the room. Also fix the doors! they all slam shut really loudly.
Location: clean and nice 'getaway' / quiet neighbourhood. near the #2 train
Budget option for Amsterdam but not really near anything. close to #2 train to downtown (about 18 stops away). Its about 4-5 stops from the airport (that is bus and train from Laylilan station). Overall ok clean room - only essentials, not even a coffee pot in room. TV included in room. Worst thing about this hotel is its really loud often (not soundproof) the Doors slam shut and the housekeeping was also super loud early in the morning waking people up for no reason. also deceiving advertising - no real shuttle from the airport to hotel provided, only provided to airport for a fee. wouldn't bother renting this again

Meh.

Posted 13-Oct-2014
Pros: The food we had from the "Cafe" in the hotel was reasonably priced and of a reasonable standard.
Cons: Condition of the room.
Location: Location wise it was ok, it was a short walk to the tram stop, but the tram took a fair while to get to the centre of town, looked closer on the map.
The overall experience was ok, but the cleanliness of the room and the bathroom were a little less than I had hoped for and let the hotel down.

Crap hotel

Posted 11-Oct-2014
The hotel itself is far from the city centre & hastily put together with mismatched furniture possibly second hand. Most definitely the handy man is inexperienced as well as the staff. The rooms smelled like cat urine and the lighting is terrible. The price for rooms at this hotel should be much less. I would expect more in the range of $60 per night. The only good thing was the breakfast was decent.

hotel too expensive and far from centre

Posted 08-Oct-2014
Pros: breakfast was good.
Cons: pretty much everything. needs new paint, carpet, lighting, bathrooms, everything!
Location: the location is far from the centre, there is nothing close by to do or see. Its set in a residential area with no little cafe's around.
We booked using Expedia, the photos online do not reflect the hotel what so ever! the hotel itself is far from the centre which is fine as its on the tram line which runs every 7min but its disappointing in every way except maybe breakfast. The staff are shabbily dressed for the most part, not unfriendly, not unhelpful but very clearly only dealing with what they have. The rooms are awful. Some new parts (for example one might have a new shower but the sink will be cracked and there will be holes in the wall, or another might have newer furniture but the bathroom looks like they may have hired a crack head to design it) Every room we viewed smelled so we went for the one with the window that opened which had to remain open at all times otherwise it smelled like cat pee. Nice. The lighting was terrible, there were no hairdryers in the room. You could however borrow one for a 20euro deposit which afforded you 30 minutes. like I mentioned above the only satisfactory part was the breakfast which they gave us to appease our disappointment ever so slightly. If the rooms weren't 140 euro a night and somewhere more around 80 I think that would have allowed me to turn a blind eye to the shabbiness of it all.

Poor quality hotel with minimal conveniences.

Posted 04-Oct-2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: Poor location, nothing of any importance to business travelers
This hotel is located in a rough neighborhood with no local conveniences. The hotel requires significant renovation. No restaurant in the hotel but a "snack bar' serving burgers, pizza and sandwiches. Rooms reasonably clean but shabby. Definitely not for business travelers due to location and lack of conveniences. Definitely no more than a 1 star rating.
