“Great hotel,an oasis in the midst of a busy ,noisy but fun city.”

Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms providing a calm environment and quiet nights.A good loccation close to the railway station and the start of the canal boat trips. The tram stops were just outside the door. . Our breakfast wasn't included so we had to choose from a set menu and therefor had to order things we didn't really want. We would have prefered to choose from the buffet.

Area recommendations

Probably the Centrum, although not one of the pretiest areas, as there is easy access to all other areas. It also has a good selection of restraurants and cafes if people don't want to go far at night.

“Nice spot in a great location”

We stayed here 3 nights. Only downside is lack of a hotel restaurant. There is a good breakfast, and some snacks in the bar, but that's it. My husband uses a mobility cart and the hotel was very well suited for him. Easy front door access - no stairs - ramp into the lobby - good elevators. Bell desk people are fantastic. Front desk, kind of icy. When you go outside, turn left. Turning right leads to some dicey areas...

“Great location, comfortable hotel”

Great location - less than a 10 min walk to Dam Square, Anne Frank house, 15 min walk to central station, Rembrant House. There are several cafes and bars next door for breakfast / lunch / dinner - and literally hundreds off Dam Square. We didn't use the hotel for food - no particular reason other than wanted to get out and about. You can pretty much walk anywhere in central Amsterdam - if you need to get futher out trams and metros are efficeint and frequent - and relatively easy to follow. Just watch you dont get mown down by one of the bikes - plus the trams can sneak up on you if you are not wary. Main critisism is that the hotel is slightly expensive - but then it is central and the staff very helpful....and the beds are fantasticly comfortable!

Getting there

We took carry on luggage only - very quick and easy. Make sure your measurements are correct. Train from Airport was very smooth and easy. Tip: I would spend the extra few Euros on a 1st Class ticket - everyone crowds onto the standard class lots were standing. First class caridges were empty - plenty of room for luggage and you dont feel like cattle - all for 2 or 3 Euros more (I think two 1st class tickets were 12 Euro). Train takes about 20 mins and are frequent to and from.

“Would book this one again!”

A great part of our satisfaction was the front desk. All personnel were very helpful and friendly. We saw and did a lot of things in Amsterdam during our stay thanks to them. They also have free email which was a huge advantage. The hotel is in a prime location and has access to all forms of public transportation.
