“Nice location.....small room though”

Smack bang in the middle of amsterdam - next to Dam square. Great location. Friendly staff. Room however for a 4* hotel was a bit on the cramped side - you'd be lucky to swing a cat in the room. Also the mini bar was disgusting - looked like it hadnt been cleaned at all. Apart from that however it was cool- as I say nice staff and a great location

“Great location, wonderful staff!”

Swissotel Amsterdam prompts me to seek them out and book in other cities. Staff were exceptionally well trained in customer service - nice touches by constant offering of bottled water, juice and snacks at reception and in the business office, bed turn-down and prompt response to requests. They even raided the staff room to provide fresh milk for our in-room coffee (being not fond of the sachets provided.) Extra amenities (fitness centre, business centre) are well appointed and maintained. I will definitely be back to this hotel whenever I am in Amsterdam!

Area recommendations

The city is full of interest - the museum district is a cultural haven, touring the canals is fascinating and there is a good range of high-street and high-end shopping just outside the door of this well-located hotel.

“Lovely staff and comfortable hotel”

I could not fault this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and the room was comfortable and spotlessley clean. If I had to find something to criticise I would just say that the lighting was rather dim in the room when getting ready in the evening. However I would definitely stay there again in the future. It's location was ideal for sightseeing in Amsterdam.

“Great city break hotel.”

We took a last minute family city break holiday in this holiday based on internet reviews. It exceeded all expectations. Good for a city based holiday. Great central location. A few minutes walk from main station. Friendly delightfull staff. Nice well appointed rooms. Very quiet (no noise from outside). I would recommend this hotel. I will return soon for another visit.
