Lovely hotel close to Central station

Hotel Moevenpick is a lovely modern hotel, the rooms are very clean and comfortable with a fantastic view of Amsterdam . The hotel staff are really friendly and will do everything they can to make your stay an excellent experience . Would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return, hopefully next year.

A great location but need to improve management

The hotel is in a great location near the Central Station and walking distance to the center of Amsterdam. The room I stayed in was very comfy and there was a great view of the harbour. However, the quality of customer service needs improving. My first impression when I arrived was that no one cares about you. A fat bloke at the reception was on the phone for 15 minutes ignoring me and other customers waiting to be checked in. Some staff were going in and out of the office behind the reception for a while until someone with a very serious face asked me what I want. Eventually, a pleasant woman took over him and checked me in. Next day the room was not serviced until 4:30pm because I was told their working day is until 5pm. A great place otherwise.

great hotel

Pros: the location, views, the excellent staff & standard of the executive rooms was superb.
Cons: transfer from the train station
Location: superb for seeing all the sites of the city & close to public transport
fabulous hotel & staff superb, nothing was too much trouble.

Great view from the room, good buffet breakfast, friendly staff, who spoke excellent English, good transport link - overall a very enjoyable stay for 4 days in a friendly hotel.

Excellent hotel.

The hotel is 15 minute walk from Amsterdam Central where you can catch any Tram you want to go anywhere in Amsterdam. If you dont want to walk, the hotel offers its own shuttle service to the centre, whereas u can also catch the tram to the town centre opposite the hotel. My experience at Movenpick was amazing, very satisfied with the room, as it was both spacious and very clean. It has an amazing view and it is away from the busy streets which allows you to relax at night. would definitely go back when I visit Amsterdam again!

Close to Dam Sq and Train Station

Pros: Very clean and the staff were very professional and helpful.
Cons: The price of water could be looked at. 8 Euros for a bottle turned out to be more expensive than Harrods! Harrods cost us £6.50...
Location: Location was good although it was a long 10 minute walk to the hotel from the Train St
Well run hotel only 10 minute walk to the Train Station. also only 5 in cab ride to Dam Sq. Staff were very polite and efficient, and the room had a fantastic view of the City and the river. Very pricey for drinks and room service. It cost us 8 Euros for just a bottle of water! The mini bar was empty which wasn't what we expected. The room itself was very clean, with a King size bed and flat screen T.V. The bathroom was very modern and impressive and very clean.

Executive room unsatisfactory

Paid for executive room but not made aware that changes had been made to where and when it occurred. Missed executive breakfast. Staff's attitude was basically 'tough'.
