“Great Hotel.”

Have already booked my third stay at the hotel. Very comfortable, lovely food and helpfull staff. The shuttle to the train station is convenient & its a nice walk back.

“Not going back”

Too far from the center of the city. Getting there on foot is like going through an obstacle course. No direct route. Area very poorly lit at night. Very easy to trip. Can't see the hotel from a distance, until you're right on top of it. No coffee shop (4 star hotel). That's a big deal, because outside of the full blown restaurant, there's nowhere to eat within a mile in any direction.

“A great hotel if you don't mind a walk”

Moevenpick Amsterdam is a great hotel, with easy access via tram 25 to Central Station and the heart of Amsterdam city, Dam Square. The only issue is late at night, after trams stop running, you either catch a taxi or choose to walk.....the area near Central Station in the early hours will not be to everyone's liking so a taxi is recommended. The hotel itself has all the comforts you would expect of a hotel chain as big as this, including an iron in the room (thank you). Overall, a pleasant stay.

Area recommendations

Head via a tram in to Dam Square as a meeting point with friends, but don't miss out on a look through the red light District during the evening. In Amsterdam, expect the unexpected, it is a city of open-minded and friendly people, some with very unusual tastes and ideas.......makes for a great holiday destination!

“Nice, clean, frienldly hotel”

Hotel is situated about a ten minute walk from central station, the movenpick is a impressive sized hotel with around eighteen floors and is maintained to a very high standard, staff are polite and very helpful. There is a shuttle bus which is free of charge which will take you to central station any time of day up to about seven thirty pm. movenpick has a bar and restraunt and the prices are no more than in the town centre. I have no problem recommending this hotel. first class...

“Impressed and relaxed”

Fantastic view over the harbour and the city. Very clean and friendly. Bed comfortable. Tram recommended for transport into and around the city. The burger in the bar was gorgeous! Would recommend to all!

Area recommendations

The Leidesplein is great for drinks and people watching! We would also recommend the museum area including a short walk to the Heineken Museum which is informative and allows you to drink lots of beer!

Getting around

We had an Iamsterdam card which allowed us to travel on the trams and gain free entry to many museums for 48 hours. Great value.

“Clean, efficient, but out of the wa a bit”

Got this hotel on a last minute trip to Amsterdam so had little other choices, Nice hotel, good staff, good service, a little out of the city centre and walking on a windy day can be a drag, but there is a tram stop across the hotel that will take you to central station and beyond. My room had great views, and the bar next door served my beet. I was happy. Will be back.

Area recommendations

The whole city is wonderful to walk around. Will take a week just for museums
