“Quiet Hotel in Central Location”
Very nice quiet hotel in a central location. Plenty of trams to take yoyu into the city centre or its a 20 minute walk. We explored near and far around the hotel and I would stay agian if I could get the same price.
“A lovely hotel in a perfect location”
We stayed three nights at this hotel and have nothing negative to say about it. It was immaculate and stylish and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a bit more expensive than we wanted to pay but we stuck our head in to see what it was like and it looked fresh and the choice was good. We would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
“Highly recommended”
This is a quiet but well situated hotel, between the main centre and the museums. It's also on a tram line that goes to the Central Station, which is useful when you arrive/leave. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but had it at local cafes. Plenty of restaurants in Utrechtestraat nearby for dinner. The decor of the room was modern without being alienating. The beds were super comfy and the pillows and duvets too. Plenty of room, and in the bathroom too. Great shower. Friendly staff.
“A very comfortable and convenient base to explore Amsterdam”
This Mercure hotel is quite nicely located, away from the hustle and bustle but close to tram routes. One can walk into the main centre or its surrounding areas if you wish but trams are so convenient. Hotel was spotless and staff more than helpful. Our room was a good size (2 adults and one teenager) but our only adverse comment is the dark coloured walls and soft lighting could make it seem dark at times. This is a great medium-cost hotel and we would stay here again!
“Mercure”
Nice clean room in a very convenient location.
“Good hotel but expensive”
Good hotel, good location in a really lovely area of Amsterdam. Rooms are very small (like any city hotel) & clean but our room did have scuff marks on the walls and stains on the carpets, beds are very comfortable. Bathroom was very clean.
“Amsterdam as it should be”
Great location near everything you want to see. We didn't know how prevalent bikes were in Amsterdam, but everyone has them. The hotel offers great bikes for rent, get those and start cruising. Everything we wanted to see was less than a 15 minute bike ride away. Rooms were very clean, new, and the headboards were a Rembrant print, great touch. Will definitely stay here again.
“Great Hotel”
I stayed for two nights at the Mercure Amsterdam Arthur Frommer and was impressed. The hotel is modern and clean and worth a few Euros more. The room was well equipped and the bed comfortable (I am 6ft + ), the room I had was on the third floor, which is the top floor and occupies the roof space. Not a big deal really, the room was still a good size for the price. The decor and furniture were contemporary, the free wireless internet was great. The in room laptop sized safe (free to use) was a great benefit. The flat screen TV had a host of worldwide channels and was of good quality. The bathroom and shower were excellent, the shower was powerful and the towels and free soaps etc were replenished each day. Housekeeping was excellent. The only bad thing was the cost of the breakfast, which was extremely expensive! There are many local resturants / cafes which cost a lot less and are of excellent quality. This hotel is 15 minutes walk and 5 minutes on the Tram from the center of Amsterdam, in my opinion this is a great benefit as you get away from the crowds and noise . Most of the streets in Amsterdam are narrow and some traffic noise can be experienced due to the proximity of most of the properties to the roads. I enjoyed my trip to Amsterdam, the canals and shops were excellent. Amsterdam was a very clean, interesting and vibrant city.
“Excellent”
This is a well located, fairly central hotel with attentive service at a good price. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby along with museums and cinemas. Recommended.
“Lovely hotel”
About 5-10 minute walk from bustling part of centre; very picturesque and serene area; very clean and comfortable hotel; reasonably priced; room slightly small but no overall complaint; would definitely recommend.

Canal Ring, Amsterdam, Netherlands: The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic muchphotographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.
