“This is a hostel not a hotel”

The BUNK beds were comfortable with clean bed linen, bathroom spotless however the room was awful. filthy walls, no ventilation , windows sealed and exposed pipes where there was once a radiator ! we asked for replacement towels as some were thread bare, whilst the others were dirty. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Transportation back into Amsterdam was good considering how far out this HOSTEL is . Extremely unlikely a return visit will be made

“3 Star wannabe”

The complimentary breakfast buffet was cold slices of meats and bread. Had to sleep in bunk beds, there was no phone in the room, therefore no room service available which surely a 3 star hotel should provide. There was no shower gel or soap provided in the bathrooms which is standard in every hotel i've ever stayed in. It costs 25 euros to get to amsterdam town center (aroud late october 2010, prices may change upon future visits). Apart from the hotel i really enjoyed Amsterdam and would love to return in the near future.

“Hotel Nieuw Slotania amsterdam - Don't bother, cheap and not close to anything”

Typical "European-Style" hotel: dirty, noisy, rude. Mostly college kids. Internet access poor. Poor location, very far away from main "tourist" area.

“Dont believe pictures”

Unclean accomodations spoil holidays => spoiled holiday=> wasted money

What to pack

Be very careful on what you are packing because i had nothing in the hotel room, Just 2 towels- which were DIRTY.

Must see

Must see fishing villages around Amsterdam, windmills and the very green nature, uncredibly beautiful, Excellent for profetional photographers :)

“à 20me en tram ou bus du centre-ville”

situé dans la banlieue ouest, très cosmopolite, mais très agréable pour se reposer après les journées passées à déambuler dans le coeur d'Amsterdam

“Hotel überhaupt nicht zufriedenstellend”

Das Hotel ist leider nicht weiter zu empfehlen, der Service war miserabel! Man wurde nicht freundlich begrüsst und fühlte sich nicht willkommen. Das Zimmer war schmutzig und im Bad war überall Schimmel zu finden :( Die Wände leider auch sehr ringhörig! Frühstücksbuffet mangelhaft, keine Auswahl und nicht sauber. Beim Auschecken riss man uns den Zimmerschlüssel aus der Hand und sagte nur: Ok, bye!

“Amsterdam Hotel Slotania”

Helt ok hotell för dom pengarna, bra personal och alla kan grym engelska då min flamlänska är rätt knackig om vi säger så. Lustig kuriosa var att dom informerade om att man inte fick röka joint på rummet men utanför på gatan gick det bra. Bra frukost också. Spårvagnsförbindelse direkt till centrala Amsterdam finns också. Kostar runt 35 Euro att åka taxi från flygplatsen Schipol till hotellet.

Area recommendations

Red Light Distrikt och kringliggande gränder och gator. Så himla vackert i Amsterdam.

“sporvogn 14 direkte til hotellet.Godt hotel sammenlignet med prisen.”

Hotellet ligger i et roligt kvarter, 20 min. fra centrum. Rene håndklæder hver dag og en redt seng. Tv på værelset, Godt badeværelse. Morgenmad ok.

Dejligt at slentre langs kanalerne i centrum.
