“Basic but Brilliant!”
This hotel does exactly what it says on the tin, it's cheap and cheerfull... It's about 5 minutes walk from Central Station and Dam Square... and all the coffee shops. The rooms were very basic but the beds were cleaned every day and were comfortable, the towels were also changed every day and the room had an on suite shower and toilet (bouns at this price). For the price I have never stayed in a better budget hotel in Amsterdam and this was my 13th trip :-)
“Awful, just awful”
Th word hotel, even a budget hotel, does give you the impression that there will be some facilities, but in this case 'slum' or 'squat' would have been more accurate. The beds were camp beds which should be for occasional use, however these appeared to be permanent and one collapsed as it was held together with a bent screw. There was no other furniture in the room except a wooden chair so nowhere to unpack, hang clothes etc. The wiring in the lights was hanging out with no shades There was no hot water in the basin for washing The room telephone was not working so to report the collapsed bed in the night I had to climb down 60 stairs and then back up. The carpet on the stairs was loose and extremely dangerous particularly as the stairs were very narrow. The only thing in its favour was that the toilet paper was of a good quality - particularly handy for wiping the vomit off the walls of the communal toilet.
“Not impressed”
Old hotel building in the heart of the city centre could do with a lot of maintenance as it is in run down condition.
“dont even book this hotel”
It is very simple - it is a tourist trap, the pictures you see on this website, doesn't have anything to do with the reality, which is very depressing and smelly room, and in fact you keep on asking yourself what kind of room it was before it become a hotel. In fact we lost our money and we didn't stay there, we had to book another hotel 30 min after we checked in.
“toasty, convenient, clean, good service”
I had a couple issues to resolve prior to arriving, and the staff were really prompt and thorough in emailing with me before our trip. My husband is disabled, and they booked our room right on the lobby, extremely helpful, cheery, nice people, all shifts. Our room was clean, the bathroom new and spotless with outstanding hot water, lots of hot water, hot enough to make tea with it. We had two radiators, were very comfy with fresh towels, fresh sheets, was quite nice to me. The location couldn't have been better, as my husband's disabled and couldn't go far at all, so with a dozen restaurants within steps, numerous coffee shops within steps, we were able to do a lot of people watching without having to hurt him.
Husk at checkout her er kl 11 !
“HOTEL MANOFA A EVITER ABSOLUMENT”
A DECONSEILLER DONC ABSOLUMENT .

Dam Square - Central Station, Amsterdam, Netherlands: The bustling heart of Amsterdam, this district attracts hordes of visitors teeming from Centraal Station to Dam Square and its beautiful Nieuwe Kerk (14th-century). The oldest part of town, Oude Zijde, is famous for its Red Light District, but the University and the docks bring a different kind of colour and buzz to the narrow streets. Dont miss the Oude Kerk, the Amstelkring Museum or the paintings in the Amsterdams Historisch Museum.
