Great location, basic but good hotel

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Great location, basic but good room. Only thing that could have been improved was the house keeping service but it was still clean.

Ideal spot for all the Amsterdam sights

Posted 23-Jun-2015
Pros: Staff were friendly. We arrived earlier than check-in and and no problem (and no charge) to leave bags with Concierge. Same on the day we left too.
Cons: All the dealings we had with hotel were good.
Location: Although they hire bikes from the hotel, we had an excellent service from the Green Bikes outside (canalside). Ideal location for all tourist spots.
Good location for hotel, just off Rembrandt Square and close to either No 4 or No 9 tram from Centraal Station. Lots of nice eateries around the square too. Hotel room was spacious and clean with excellent bathroom facilities.

Location, Location, Rembrandt Square!

Posted 19-Jun-2015
Pros: The room confort and of course the location.
Cons: Hallway carpets could be modernized a bit.
Location: Entrance to hotel from either beautiful Amstel canal on one side or Amsteraat on other. Rembrandt Plaza, Tram stop, pubs, restaurants only steps away.
Very nice, comfortable hotel. The bathroom shower, tub, etc very modern, clean and confortable. What really will make me come back, in addition to the upscale room quality is the location. Within the canal ring area of Amsterdam, but a bit (only one Tram stop away) from the core center where the city could be overwhelmed by tourists. The tram stop is one block from Hotel and so is Rembrandt Plaza. This is a beautiful plaza, always busy with youth, old, tourists and locals alike and surrounded by nice restaurants, cafes, pubs etc.

Hampshire hotel

Posted 16-Jun-2015
Pros: The location was brilliant. Perfect for sightseeing and being right in the middle of everything. The hotel room were very clean and modern.
Cons: The hotel corridors were a bit tired and could do with updated a tad.
Location: Dam square about a 7 minute walk away. Museums about 10-15 minute walk away. Shopping district 5 minute walk away. Restaurant and bars 1 minute walk.
We stayed at the Hampshire hotel in Rembrandt square for 3 nights in June. The hotel was easy to find. From the airport it was easy to get to Amsterdam Centraal station and from there good and easy tram links to Rembrandt square where the hotel is located. The hotel was very nice and our room was very modern and clean. Bathroom was renovated and very modern and chic and well equipped. Overall, we were very content with the standard of the room. We are very fussy about cleanliness and this hotel was up to our standard. Location wise this hotel was brilliant! Right in the center of everything. About a 10 to 15 minute walk to the museums and about 5 to 7 minute walk to Dam Square. Perfect location so no where was too far. Rembrandt square itself is filled with bars and restaurants so it is very convenient if you want to eat dinner close to the hotel. We recommend buying the tickets to any attractions in advance in the tours and tickets shops to save time in the queues and sometimes it's cheaper as well!

Great location

Posted 14-Jun-2015
Pros: Bathroom excellent, location amazing
Cons: when you check in they take a city tax off you and an extra 50 euro deposit 'in case you have a drink at the bar'. Could have done without that
This is a lovely modern hotel in an excellent location for enjoying Amsterdam.

Great location, right on Rembrandt Square

Posted 09-Jun-2015
Pros: Location and friendly staff
Cons: Room could use updating and better lighting
Location: Three Sisters Pub great for late night drinks and food. L'Opera was great for breakfast. We picked up the hop on hop off canal boat nearby.
The location is perfect, right off Rembrandt Square. It's a noisy but exciting area. If you are a light sleeper don't stay here as there is noise from the Square, trams, cars, etc. There are great bars and restaurants open late nearby. The room was a bit tired but acceptable. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, especially the concierge.
