Provided genuine hospitality for me.

Posted 21-Nov-2014
Pros: The hotel is situated in a good location.
Cons: Old bathroom.
Location: Travellers trying to find some quiet secluded place.
The hotel has different lighting designs for its lobby, lounge, halls and other areas to create a dramatic, luxurious effect for its guests.

Nice business hotel

Posted 14-Nov-2014
Highlights: great water pressure in the shower (very important); excellent room cleanliness and service (I returned to a dimly lit room with soft classical music playing every evening); nice bar in reception area, which was hopping on Saturday night; proximity to great Italian resto (Dal Barone), but in very quiet residential area. Lowlights: over-priced breakfast buffet; my colleague was charged for wi-fi, which should have been free.

Great hotel

Overall very good hotel. Tram service short walk to take you into the city centre and few attractions are in walking proximity. The hotel itself, staff and facilities were excellent, room was very good quality and spacious. Definitely recommend!

Great hotel but breakfast expensive.

Posted 04-Nov-2014
Pros: The beds are clean and very comfortable and the bar was pleasant and relaxed.
Cons: Breakfast should be bookable on the Expedia website - hotel system is confused and confusing.
Location: Little to do within walking distance. Nearby shopping centre is limited to clothes and the odd cafe (no bars) and taxis are expensive.
The rooms were clean and very well equipped with tea, coffee and complimentary biscuits, fruit and two bottles of water. The bathroom was also spotless with a range of shower and bath gels and soaps. The bar is very pleasant with a great selection of beers on tap and bottled, but perhaps a little expensive. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfasts were very good but expensive and the bill on checkout assumes that you have had breakfast on each day of your stay whether you had pre-booked it or not. There seems to be little communication between reception and the restaurant so you need to inform the staff at checkout if you have not taken breakfast or you will be charged!

Hotel for business trip

Posted 31-Oct-2014
Pros: location not too bad. the rating is conditional; I thought it very expensive, so I could recommend it if cost was not an important consideration.
Cons: for 22.50 euros, they could at least have an omelet station.
Location: Museumplein a couple of tram stops away. RAI is close by cab (about 10 minutes, 10 euros) but a half hour or more by tram.
Hotel is ok. Maid service is chancy, had "please make up room" sign out for 5 hours while we were gone, came back & room not yet made up. Finally called desk about 4 pm, and maid showed up about 4:30. Breakfast very pricy for what you get. Bathroom layout not good: 1) need ot navigate around door to get to toilet 2) only half shower screen, so need particular care not to flood the bathroom when you take a shower. Access to trams about two blocks - not bad if it's nice weather, not so good if it's raining. In a relatively safe residential area.

Close, Quiet, Convenient, perfect Marathon hotel.

Posted 24-Oct-2014
We booked for the amsterdam marathon and our 10year anniversary. The hotel is a quick Conexxions 197 bus ride (buy tickets at the bus stop) and walk from the Museumplein bus/tram stop. the Bilderberg Garden Hotel is conveniently located a block from the main 2,5,and 24 tram lines which will take you to all the main attractions in less than 10 minutes. If you opt out of the tram you can walk to the city centre but amsterdam is best experiencedby bicycle. Morning coffee spent at Bertram Bakker in Nearby Cornelis was a joy. Free wifi there (@BB) was a bonus. We rented bikes for 4 days which was so much fun. So close to vondelpark. And the museumplein grocery store (Albert Heijn) was so convenient to buy stroopwaffles for gifts. The Beethovenstraat grocery is also very close. Depending on what day you are there shops close early so ask before venturing out. Buy your tickets to attractions at the hotel to save time. And read the magazine in the room for suggestions. We recommend LOF on harlemmeerstraat to eat at. The staff was very attentive and we were welcomed by a bottle of wine and chocolates from the management for our 10 year anniversary. The green apples were such a nice touch and the mini stroopwaffles with coffee were perfect. Thank you for this. We hope to return soon with the kids.

Hotel in good locality

Posted 08-Oct-2014
Issues with the air conditioning. Our upstairs room was quite hot at night, due to a rather sunny and hot November day. Adjusting the temperature control made no difference. When I asked about this the next day the explanation given was that because the hotel was a green hotel the air conditioning was disabled if the outside temperature was low.No good if your room temp is high!
