Very well positioned hotel close to Rijksmuseum

Posted 07-Nov-2014
but the room was very small; almost no toiletries were supplied other than industrial style liquid soap and shampoo which were the same thing in two differently labelled bottles. I would not recommend the breakfast which is very expensive and not very good - much better to go the two minutes walk to the Rijksmuseum café and have breakfast there (from 9 am - better, and cheaper!) The hotel staff are very obliging and helpful.

great location

Wonderful location almost next door to Rikjsmuseum with breakfast room overlooking pretty view of canal. However the room was so very tiny that it was not fit for purpose for two adults. Hotel staff were so kind and helpful especially when I lost something - they went to great trouble to find it.

Smallest Possible Rooms - Very Friendly Staff

Posted 19-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
We Stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. Objective was to book a place around city center in good budget. which this hotel completely justifies. Excellent location - opposite hardrock cafe - by the canal ..5 mins walk to tram station that takes you straight to central station and goes through entire shopping street. nice food joints at 2 mins walk ..Reception staff is friendly - my advice will be to book a 2 bed room and ask for tripple room at 30 euro per night extra at front desk. that option may not be available online. a double bed or twin bed rooms are big NO for any visitor - they are really cramped - we tried 3 rooms before settling in one of them as all were so so so small that we 2 people couldnt even open our 25 inch suitcase and left it open. while we also had one triple room in basement with us and that was spacious enough to accommodate 3 pax and leve space to walk a bit in room...all in all great location great price great staff but smallest rooms for double occupancy - either take triple room or consider taking double room for 1 pax ...

Convenient Location and Helpful Staff

Posted 11-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel is located within a three blocks of the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, the Coster Diamond Museum (free), a canal river boat cruise station, a city-wide tram pick-up station, and decent places to eat. The Heineken Brewery is also within a short walking distance. The hotel room was small by American standards, but clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was very helpful, especially helping us make on-line reservations for the Van Gogh Museum which saved a couple hour wait in line. We did not opt for the hotel restaurant option because food options were readily available elsewhere (Dutch Pancake House across the street was especially good).

The hotel is near many museums. The Vango museum also the Heineken experience and many others. For 5 euros you can also take the bus from the airport very easy to use. (Bus 197) and from near the hotel there are many other atractions. The hotel staff was very good from the desk to the dining facilities.

small rooms but near the shops

Posted 10-Aug-2014
after having stayed at another hotel nearer to vondelpark, i find this hotel had small rooms & bathroom. however what compensated it was that it was on the main road to leidseplien, making it easier to get back to the hotel room. good staff, clean hotel, and convenient to get to.
