“I would use this hotel again and recommend it to others”

This hotel was well located, the staff was helpful and professional, the rooms were small but well designed and adequate for comfort. The hotel provides many extras, snacks in the lobby, complimentary beverages include wine, beer and full bar. A cozy fireplace in the lobby with several seating areas was appreciated by our group, it provided a conversation and resting area away from our hotel room. Free internet and convenient computers and a printer in the lobby was a plus. My only criticism would be of the small breakfast/dining room, the food and space could be upgraded a notch - maybe a simple fresh flower at each table - a "good morning" from the cook, otherwise we were satisfied with the food.

Getting around
Do your homework in advance regarding the public transportation. This is a city of mass bicycle riders, very few city dwellers use cars, visitors use taxis or modern trolleys and its a complicated system.
What to pack
Good walking shoes, warm layers of clothing and an umbrella is you are travelling in the winter months, Amsterdam is a very breezy city. We had to days of damp, cold weather. A camera, the architecture is beautiful and picture worthy.
Must see
The Van Gogh Museum collection is memorable, the Rijks Museum collection was very impressive. A canal excursion is a must and can take as little as an hour to get a good "canal view" of the city. Our two day stay was enjoyable.

“Luxurious stay in Amsterdam”

The Banks Mansion was a fantastic surprise. Luxurious well appointed room with canal view and well fitted bathroom. Bed very comfortable and choice of pillows. Staff at front desk very helpful as well both on check in and check out. i was amazed that the mini bar was free of charge plus there was wine and food in the lobby as well. I had to rush out immediately and hardly spent any time in the hotel but would have loved to be there longer. Breakfast was fine too.

Area recommendations
Amsterdam is very small really and easy to walk around. Staying in the Canal Loop makes everything really easy to get to.
Getting there
Go for the shuttle bus through Connexion instead of a taxi. Very good value and takes you to and collects you from your hotel.

“Hard to beat”

Excellent room with a comfortable bed and an all inclusive bar and snack package what more do you need. This hotel offers an open bar and quality snack in the lounge and complimentary mini bar in your room and a bed and pillows that are second to none. The breakfast is great with a wide selection to choose from.

“Long weekend at banks mansion”

I would recomend this hotel to absolutely anyone. It is extremely homely and clean, with a real sophisticated look. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable. We had breakfast included which consisted of a range of pastries, cooked breakfast, smoked salmon, and lots of fresh fruit and yoghurt. The bar in the lounge area was also included in the price which had a wide range of beers,wines and spirits. The mini bar in our room was also free which was stocked daily. Tea, coffee and hot drinks are available at any time which are also free. Our room was cleaned every morning with fresh towels and bed linen. We really couldn't fault this hotel and the staff go out of their way to look after you in every way. We will definately be back very soon.

“Home from Home”

This is the second time I have stayed in this hotel and frankly, cannot think of a reason to stay anywhere else in Amsterdam.

“An excellent hotel experience in Amsterdam.”

Banks Mansion is a luxurious art deco styled hotel, conveniently located near the heart of the city. The friendly, helpful staff provided consistently high levels of customer service and speak perfect English. Our room was spacious and equipped with a hugely comfortable bed quality pillows and immaculately clean bedding. It was stylishly decorated + well appointed with all we needed for a very satisfactory stay. The hotel operates an innovative all-inclusive package with free access to drinks and a varied breakfast menu. A flat screen TV, a DVD player, free movies and Wi-Fi completed the picture. We were both extremely impressed by this hotel and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it. We will certainly be staying here during future trips to Amsterdam!

“Great location, friendly staff”

Hotel is in great location. Cheese and drinks in the afternoon are a nice touch. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay at the Banks Mansion again if visiting Amsterdam.

“"Loved It"”

Group of 6 ladies staying for long weekend - An excellent quality hotel with an amazing "all inclusive drinks package" - all branded drinks/soft drinks/tea/coffee etc. Brilliant customer service - nothing was too much for the team. Good quality breakfast in pleasant surroundings. Well located hotel near to all amenities. Would go back tomorrow

Area recommendations
All of it! Canal boat hop off/hop on a great way to get around. Try the Sex Museum (only 4 euros) for a giggle and the Heinekin experience is worth a visit. A stay is not complete until a visit to the Anne Frank Museum.

“Good but not excellent”

Located on a quiet canal but still on a main street ;noIsy on Saturday night. Friendly helpful staff .Room very small for luxury hotel . Breakfast standard fare but hardly luxorious.Free drink policy unusual but works well . Difficult to put this hotel in luxury bracket.
