Four of us, all family, stayed for a weekend, Fri to Sun, during mid-October, 2013. We had stayed almost exactly a year ago, with 13 family members, for the same event and came back because the simple, relaxed atmosphere suited our needs perfectly. Most of us live in NY and we came for the ultra-marathon run in Palo Duro canyon in which my son participated both years in the 50 mile run. The relatively quiet and very relaxed atmosphere at the motel appealed to my son who asked to stay in the same place for that reason. The reasonable rates also made it possible for us to stay in numbers where cost could have been a prohibitive factor. The owners of the motel were extremely accomodating both times we stayed and remembered us from the previous year. Condition of the motel was as good and maybe even a little improved from last year. The view of the sunset from the balcony provided a looked-forward to pleasure from last year.
Nothing fancy, but homey and comfortable.

We pass through Amarillo every year while headed to the mountains. We always stay here because of the cleanliness and overall experience. Friendly staff, nice sized rooms and comfortable beds. Covered parking. Easy access to major roads.

Our stay was very pleasant. Room was clean, clerk was nice, and we especially enjoyed hanging out in the semi-private TV viewing room that is located off of the breakfast dining area. The only (bad) thing we experienced was that their "store" was out of soft drinks, but it wasn't a very big deal to us.
I loved the hot tub on site. The spacious rooms were worth every dime!! There were plenty of restaurants nearby (jimmy johns, red Robin within walking distance). And the best part was being greeted in the morning with a REAL continental breakfast-like bacon!! It was great!
