“Magnificent site - outstanding views of the surroundings”
The beautiful Hotel Raito needs to refine the attitude of their front desk staff to reflect a more friendly and gracious commitment to their guests. We were disappointed that English was not spoken well by important members of their service personnel. We had to request air conditioning during an unusually hot spell that was present at the time of our visit. The television did not provide adequate coverage of world events and wi-fi should be available all over the entire hotel as is in most five-star hotels. We had to take the shuttle bus to town in order to buy Euros. The elevator certainly was unreliable and a problem to the guests as well as the staff. The focus of the hotel is on area weddings and not on the satisfaction of the hotel guests. On our tour, we were in seven hotels. The Raito was among the most beautiful but was sorely lacking in certain areas.
“Recommend Hotel Raito - Amalfi Coast”
Great hotel with lots of amenities. Nice, large pool; great terrace bar with beautiful views. This hotel is large and has a lot of different, beautiful spaces that seems to be rented out for events – We saw two brides and a birthday party complete with the best fireworks I’ve ever seen and a fire dancer. As a guest, you can get entrance to the spa, which includes a Turkish bath, showers, steam room & sauna. Has free self-parking and is a good home-base for visiting various Amalfi Coast towns. (Over five days we visited we visited Vietri Sul Mare, Salerno, Agropoli, Cilento, Minori, Ravello, Amalfi and Positano.) Room & shower were a little small but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast included. Free Internet access via computers in lobby. Recommend having a car. The hotel is set up the hill from the closest little town (Vietri Sul Mare) so it’s not really walking distance from the shops & restaurants. I believe the hotel had shuttle service and the town has buses but we were glad we had our own car. I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again in the future.
“Good Overall but Rent a Car”
The hotel itself was very nice. The room was very clean and well kept, and the food at the restaurant was pricey but good. The view is spectacular. Since we did not rent a car, we had to use a taxi, bus, or the hotel shuttle to get to the nearest town/train station. Although we booked the shuttle, and were told that we would have it at a certain time, the shuttle departure was delayed repeatedly and we were not notified. This left us standing outside, by the shuttle, until I found out it would be departing an hour after we scheduled it. When the shuttle is running properly, it is very convenient, although the vehicle itself has seen better days and is severely dented. Overall, I would recommend the hotel, but rent a car.
“100% Picture Perfect”
My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Raito for a week in mid March, which is the low season. It was absolutely beautiful. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The rooms were clean comfortable and well decorated, the view from our balcony of the town of Vietri Sul Mare and the Bay was second to none. All the amenties are ultra modern. We felt like the Hotel Raito was our home at the end of each day. When we return to the Amalfi Coast again, I would book a stay here above any other option.
“Best holiday so far!”
The hotel was absolutely first class and the location was central to everything we wanted to visit - albeit we had hired a car. The staff were lovely and very helpful and the views breathtaking. My only niggle - and only a small one - we had wanted a hotel with an indoor pool, particularly for my daughter, but you had to be over 14 (which we had not been informed about) and it cost 20 euros/person per day!! However, we were out and about and enjoying the holiday so much that it didn't really matter that much. We want to go back again and again...
“5* Hotel, 1* Service”
One thing to point out immediately is that this is definitely a 5* hotel. The layout, facilities and setting/view are amazing. But it has issues... whereas some on reception are helpful, others are not - quite impolite and curt at times. Whereas the setting is great, the restaurants/bars are too expensive (bank on about 2.5 - 3 times average UK prices). The bus to Vietri was late (both times) and the car park was rammed (although there were weddings on to be fair). If they could get the service right, this place would be a great retreat.
“Great for Relaxing”
The other reviews were correct. The hotel has fabulous views and the hotel staff were very helpful. The hotel is ideal for a relaxing break, spending time around the pool. You do need a car to get around as the location is quite a distance from Amalfi, Ravello and Positano and the driving is not for the faint hearted. Overall we would recommend the hotel, the rooms are a bit small but that is Italy in general.
“Rialto Hotel, Vietri sul Mare”
Great location to the motorway, you'll need a car for Positano, Amalfi etc, great restaurant, staff etc, you must try the "Spicy" cocktail if you stay there!
“Very nice, but.....”
...We arrived late at night and very tired. We just wanted to get to our room. Unfortunately we were taken to an annexe outside the main hotel building. Being so tired we initially paid little attention to the standard of the room. The following morning, however, we felt it was not what we had been expecting, least of all in a five star hotel. The room had an overall appearance of being "tired" and did not warrant the description of "suite". Using the shower resulted in the floor of the en suite being flooded and the bed had a feeling of dampness. However, to their credit, the staff moved us as soon as we expressed our disappointment. Overall we were impressed by their friendliness and helpfulness throughout our stay. This is reflected in the satisfaction markings we have awarded. Sadly our week in Vietri sul Mare was marred by inclement weather
“Mauro Bado”
