Nice hotel with stunning views.

Posted 15-Oct-2014
We stayed at the hotel for our 30th wedding anniversary so we were hoping for a great experience. This hotel delivered! Lovely room, large balcony/terrace and the most stunning views over Positano and the sea. The staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough to make our stay really great. Highly recommended.

Perfect location

Posted 24-Sep-2014
Pros: Location was key, beautiful views if you have a balcony.
Cons: The hotel is a little run down.
Location: The 500 steps to Fornillo beach are worth the walk. The chairs are only 8 euro each vs. 12.50 euro at Spiagga Grande, it's less crowded and cleaner.
I chose this hotel for location. High on the cliff, about a 15 minute walk to the town centre and perhaps 20 minutes to the beach - Spiagga Grande. I would consider it a three star vs. it's four star rating. While the rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious, the hotel is a little tired, could use a fresh paint and smells a little musty. Breakfast overlooking the water is quite beautiful and with a good spread. Staff were friendly and greet you whenever they see you which is nice.

Great location not too touristy.

The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a small but clean room with a great view and tiny balcony. Delicious breakfast buffet. Great restaurants down the block and can walk down to the beach and shopping.

Not even a 2-star hotel!

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Pros: The views were beautiful. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Everything, see above.
We stayed at the Posa Posa for 4 nights in two Junior Suite Sea View rooms on the 6th floor. Both rooms had beautiful views and nice size patios. The manager told us that we had the best rooms in the hotel. Ha! Nothing else about this hotel was up to any standard for ANY 4-star hotel. Although the rooms were big, they were not clean. The floors had not been swept clean and one of our rooms had ants. The bedding was old and worn. The bathroom walls had handprints on them. There were no drinking glasses in one of our rooms and when we asked for some, we received plastic cups. In addition, there was no conditioner or body lotion. The drain on the shower floor was rusty as well. We rented towels to bring to the beach and were given an assortment of mismatched, old ratty towels. Although the hotel advertised wi-fi, the only place to receive it was in the dining area. The furniture in the common areas was old and worn. The "pool" was an oversize jacuzzi and neither clean nor inviting. This hotel did not meet our expectations in any way. This hotel tried to pull off its old, worn-down room and amenities as "quaint". However, since it was one of the most expensive 4-star hotels on the internet, we certainly did not expect an old run down, dirty hotel.

Would recommend this

Posted 14-Jul-2014
Pros: Location and staff.
Cons: A bit more decor in rooms, felt a bit stark on the walls.
Front desk staff was awesome, very hospitable, felt more like a bed and breakfast with their personal service then a hotel. Good location, with fantastic view from room. Spacious accommodations for family of 4, with two adult children. Very comfy, not fancy, but for as much time as we spent it was fine. Pool pictures a bit deceiving, but overall a great experience.

Awesome hotel, awesome location. For people coming into Positano, park into the car park that says Posa Posa, you have to leave your keys with them. The hotel is right next to it. The hotel is higher up on the hill, for us this allowed us to discover all of the town, if you stay in the bottom you will not get a chance to discover the charm of this village.

Great location.

Was during their off season in late October. Very few people and some premises closing down but the location was great if you enjoyed good health and didn't mind the walk back up from the beach, which helped keep the fitness level up. Lovely views and helpful staff. Our room was a good size with a balcony and reasonably priced.

Great hotel in a fabulous town

Posted 23-Oct-2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is great! The views are stunning, the service is great and the balconies are a treat. Breakfast is great and dinners are ok, you can get better meals around the beach area Positano is a stunning town with lots of restaurants and shops with a great atmosphere. The hotel is on a hill so there is a lot of exercise walking up and down (about 15 minutes each way). Driving in town is not really an option as the road is narrow, not much parking and one way only.

Far from main area

Posted 17-Oct-2013
Pros: The view from my room. But as I mentioned you have to request a room with partial or full view of the sea and be willing to pay the premium.
Cons: The pillows. The lack of staff.
Location: The location is far from the main area. You do have restaurants near by.
The hotel is situated at the top of the main city which makes it difficult to get to by foot. Do not recommend it if you are not ready to walk down to the village or climb up to your hotel. You can access it by bus or car but who wants to do that on vacation? If you get a room with partial or full view of the sea then the view is breathtaking. The staff is scarce in the dining area. Several times I had to wait until someone showed up to order something. The pillows are hard as rock to the point where I woke up with a throbbing jaw.
