well-run hotel

Posted 02-Nov-2014
Lovely staff, great location, great facilities, excellent food. My room was spacious, had a sea view and had an original design, with grotto-like rocks sticking out of the walls. Only criticism: the walls in the bathroom were damp & needed re-doing

Great Views of Positano

Posted 30-Oct-2014
Pros: Situation, though not in the town centre, offers quiet & best views of the town. Restaurant balcony is superb. Staff were very friendly & accomodating
Cons: Less traffic in Positano!
Location: Great base to explore the Amalfi coast & Capri by sea, though most destinations aren't as nice as Positano!
Hotel is on the outskirts of Positano, about 20 mins walk down the road to the town center, though you can paths to get to the beach & boats in 10 minutes. Lovely hotel with the best views of Positano & the Ocean.

Nice hotel with stunning views.

We stayed at the hotel for our 30th wedding anniversary so we were hoping for a great experience. This hotel delivered! Lovely room, large balcony/terrace and the most stunning views over Positano and the sea. The staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough to make our stay really great. Highly recommended.

Perfect location

Posted 24-Sep-2014
Pros: Location was key, beautiful views if you have a balcony.
Cons: The hotel is a little run down.
Location: The 500 steps to Fornillo beach are worth the walk. The chairs are only 8 euro each vs. 12.50 euro at Spiagga Grande, it's less crowded and cleaner.
I chose this hotel for location. High on the cliff, about a 15 minute walk to the town centre and perhaps 20 minutes to the beach - Spiagga Grande. I would consider it a three star vs. it's four star rating. While the rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious, the hotel is a little tired, could use a fresh paint and smells a little musty. Breakfast overlooking the water is quite beautiful and with a good spread. Staff were friendly and greet you whenever they see you which is nice.

Great location not too touristy.

The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a small but clean room with a great view and tiny balcony. Delicious breakfast buffet. Great restaurants down the block and can walk down to the beach and shopping.

about mid-tier on the coast line--high enough for great views but not so high it takes long to walk down to the beach; Free breakfast is nice and quick. good value/nice and quiet other than street traffic--try to get room on the 2nd or 3rd floor for best views. Pool was disappointing--oversized jacuzzi

Okay if you are on a budget

This is a basic European hotel. It is clean but it is nothing fancy. Location is good, the staff wasn't particularly helpful. It was just okay.

Not even a 2-star hotel!

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Pros: The views were beautiful. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Everything, see above.
We stayed at the Posa Posa for 4 nights in two Junior Suite Sea View rooms on the 6th floor. Both rooms had beautiful views and nice size patios. The manager told us that we had the best rooms in the hotel. Ha! Nothing else about this hotel was up to any standard for ANY 4-star hotel. Although the rooms were big, they were not clean. The floors had not been swept clean and one of our rooms had ants. The bedding was old and worn. The bathroom walls had handprints on them. There were no drinking glasses in one of our rooms and when we asked for some, we received plastic cups. In addition, there was no conditioner or body lotion. The drain on the shower floor was rusty as well. We rented towels to bring to the beach and were given an assortment of mismatched, old ratty towels. Although the hotel advertised wi-fi, the only place to receive it was in the dining area. The furniture in the common areas was old and worn. The "pool" was an oversize jacuzzi and neither clean nor inviting. This hotel did not meet our expectations in any way. This hotel tried to pull off its old, worn-down room and amenities as "quaint". However, since it was one of the most expensive 4-star hotels on the internet, we certainly did not expect an old run down, dirty hotel.

Pros: Location and staff.
Cons: A bit more decor in rooms, felt a bit stark on the walls.
Front desk staff was awesome, very hospitable, felt more like a bed and breakfast with their personal service then a hotel. Good location, with fantastic view from room. Spacious accommodations for family of 4, with two adult children. Very comfy, not fancy, but for as much time as we spent it was fine. Pool pictures a bit deceiving, but overall a great experience.
