“Great hotel near Amalfi”
We were very happy with the hotel. The balcony room provided a lovely view over the sea. The room was spacious and clean. The owner was very helpful and made us feel comfortable. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Amalfi town centre and has a couple of places to eat nearby. Although, we went out of season so it was fairly quiet and not all places were open. We loved the Amalfi coast and would definitely stay at this hotel again if we were to return.
“Excellent value for money with a friendly atmosphere”
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and found all of the staff to be very polite and friendly and they could not do enough for you, the coffee at breakfast was super! I would go back again as I had such a wonderful time in an area with so many nice people, it was a welcome break.
“Horel with a nice view”
Very good hotel. Very nice personal too. I'll came back again with pleasure.
“Hotel Bellevue not Fawlty Towers.”
Having read other travellers reviews on this hotel we were prepare for the hotel rule prohibiting guests from taking food and drink bought outside the hotel to their rooms. A bit of a disadvantage but it really didn't spoil things for us. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff pleasant and helpful. We took a liking to the owner and enjoyed several conversations with him. They also helped out when I received a parking ticket for an half hour overstay one evening while having dinner. The in room TV was the smallest flat screen I have ever seen but was adequate. Breakfast was simple but good. The croissants were freshly baked and to die for. (Croissants, bread, jams, cheese, parma ham and salami) Located about a mile outside of the main town it really was not convenient or safe to walk to town for dinner. The road is very steep and would be quite a climb after a heavy meal. Also the footpath is unlit and too dangerous to walk in the dark. Views from our room, on the front of the building, were good, although all one can really see is the sea. Parking at the hotel is free in front of the building, and the wifi is free as well, but only accessible in the reception area - not the rooms. The price seems good value for money.
“Great Family Run Hotel”
Great welcome at the Hotel Bellevue - small family run hotel, nice greeting on arrival and offer to park our car in their own parking. We upgraded to a junior suite, well worth it - a big sitting room leading into the bedroom with balcony over looking the sea. Very clean, nice bathroom. We delibrately chose to stay a little way out of Amalfi town - it only took 10 mins to walk in, and 10 Euros in a taxi back up the hill at the end of the night. Would definitely recommend this hotel to couples looking for a romantic break.
“A Few Drawbacks”
The fact that the room & public areas were all immaculate mostly made up for the few disappointments we had. We stayed 11 nights & the breakfast is identical every day so we got real tired of salami & cheese. Hotel is at least a mile east of Amalfi town center & we found that parking was not always easy in town even in November. So despite the fact that we had a car we chose to walk into town & the walk is not perfect. You have to go single file on the busy road until you get to the 89 steps down to the harbor area. The walk home is all uphill... But that's where all the restaurants & bars are. Parking was free at the hotel but because they are situated on a curve pulling out is dangerous at best. We parked in the street when possible. The manager speaks good English but he doesn't listen to your questions carefully. For example, we wanted to know about the ferry from Sorrento to Capri & he just went on about the excursion from Amalfi. Another time he insisted to us we couldn't go to Vesuvius that day but it was that there was no excursion not that the park wasn't open. Bed was comfy, towels thin & not soft. Overall we were satisfied for the price.
“Highly Recommended”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our room was lovely with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The rules about not having food in the rooms was warranted because ants are abundant in that climate when food is left out. Highly recommended.
“Great getaway”
This was a very comfortable and inviting hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. The rooms were a good size and very clean. We recommend the seaview room as the patio offers a relaxing environment and breathtaking views.
“Completely Remodeled and Very Clean”
This hotel is overlooking the Med on the Amalfi Coast. The whole hotel is nicely remodeled, and kept immaculate. The only drawback is that the owner does not allow any food to be brought into the hotel. The hotel does not have a resturant, so does not serve food, with the exception of a lovely continental breakfast that was included, coffees, snacks, sandwiches, and a full bar. What he was able to provide was at a price right above cost, and the quality was excellent. Lovely and comfortable accomodations that I would return to.
“Bel panorama”

Area:
Amalfi, Italy: A charming cluster of pastel houses, shops, cafés and watchtowers, Amalfi seems little more than a village. However it was a great naval power and a wealthy trading republic in medieval times. Its dramatic setting in jagged cliffs cloaked in vineyards is best seen from a boat. Amalfis star turn is a gorgeous cathedral with great bronze doors and lacy cloisters. The nearby village of Atrani is quiet and pretty, with a fine Byzantine church.
