“It's ok, but............”

I think it is a bit over-priced. Due to the fact the hotel does not offer a Continental Breakfast for the price but also there are no micro-waves or refridgerators in the room. The ice machine on the first floor only worked three vdays out of our 10 day stay. The heater in our room didn't work the first two nights until Isaw the room attendent and told her. It was fixed that day but I guess the maintenence people must have wanted to be sarcastic and turned the heat up to 85 degrees so the room was unbearably hot when we returned that evening. Over all the stay was pleasant and the employees were very nice. I would stay there again as the location is great with everything you need when it comes to shopping.

Hotel worked out well for lodging after a PSU football game. Plenty of local restaurants and chains for dining. Sunday breakfast at the hotel was fine. We would stay here again.

“Typical Ramada”

I'd always had a favorable opinion of Ramada. This one-night stay didn't change that. They're adequate, do a decent job. Room was comfortable, front desk was courteous and reasonably efficient. The complimentary breakfast offered was in a nice atrium-type area, requiring you to wait for host to seat you. It might have been okay, but I waited probably 7 or 8 minutes, no one was around. Seemed like no one was in a hurry. I had an appointment and could not stay to find out. Not trying to be nit-picky, but there are times when you need more efficiency. That said, the room was fine and I might stay there again if in the area.

“Clean but could use some updating”

We were at Penn State for parents' weekend. The location of the hotel was great. Very convenient, near stores and restaurants. The staff was helpful and there was a nice feeling when you walked in. The decor was outdated but everything was very clearn. I would recommend this hotel.

“Value for Money”

Attached Diner/Bar is a huge plus. I travelled during weekdays and so was very quite. Room was very clean. Breakfast complementory and is served on your table (meaning you're waited on... well... almost :))... If I visit Altoona again, I know where I'm gonna stay.

Went to visit step daughter and husband who live in Altoona. We were close to everything. Will definitely stay here on our next trip. Thanksgiving.

“This hotel needs a total renovation!”

Chek-in was easy, however it was down hill from there. I hadn't stayed at this hotel for a couple of years and boy was I disappointed this time. We were first put in a room that had a noisy iar conditioner, which was taken care of by the front desk by switching rooms. Although the second room didn't have a noisy air conditioner, like the rest of the hotel, it was old looking and not very comfortable. The bed was like sleeping on a piece of plywood and the carpets were old and worn out, which I should have expected from the looks of the hallway carpet. We stayed in a hotel in State College for two nights previous to this one night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there for substantially less cost. The two hotels could not have been more contrasting in their appearance, comfort and cost. Needless to say we were very disappointed in all aspects of our stay here. The only somewhat bright spot was the front desk. They were as accommodating as they could be. At least there was one decent thing about the hotel. We will not be staying here again, as you might discern from this review.
