“Good location, nice lobby, rooms were a disappointment. Not worth it!”

Stopped here for a night after a 4-day outback camping safari. Lobby and common areas are lovely and modern, so I had high hopes for a relaxing stay. Unfortunately, my room was a disappointment. Very basic, not very clean (still trash in the trash bins) and needed a major update. Definitely not worth what I spent - I was envious of the travelers who were smart enough to stay at the youth hostel nextdoor -- the rooms were comparable but they paid less than 1/3 what I did.

“Excellent Value for Money”

The location of this hotel is the best in town, right in the middle. Everything (shopping and sightseeing) is in easy walking distance. Staff are great and really helpful and the rooms comfortable and clean. We would be really happy to stay here again.

Area recommendations

The Police warned us not to go out walking alone at night, or walk along the Todd River banks. We stuck to the main thoroughfares and had no problems.

When to go

We went in the wet season and it was great, a bit cooler and everything was green!

“Alice Springs would not rush back”

This Hotel is better than most things in Alice Springs but that is still not saying much the hotel receptionist gave the impression that it was all too much trouble but the rest of the staff seemed ok. Alice itself is a tip of a town that you only need to see once. The hotel restaurant opens on to Alice's main shopping street and has good food, and a good view of people arguing and laying in the street .Altogether glad I've seen the place but I wouldn't rush back'.

“Comfortable Hotel, good restaurant, very convenient to central Alice Springs”

“safe access to the mall street at night”

Alice Springs is very dangerous at night. Even for a 200 m distance you would better take a taxi. From the Aurora you have access to the Mall, the only safe street at night, with some good restaurants and bars.

Everybody keeps warning us that the streets in Alice Springs at night are not safe. Even for a 200 you would call a taxi. The Mall is the only safe street and offers several nice bars, The Bojangles is certainly a place to go for beers and even dinning is pretty good.

“Can't wait to go back”

The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of all the things we wanted to see. We would like to return to the area in the next few years and would definitely try to stay in the same hotel.

Area recommendations

We were very pleased with this location. We just had to go out the back and through an outdoor restaurant and was instantly in an outdoor mall area.

Must see

We thoroughly enjoyed a day trip to Palm Valley. You must be able to do some walking and hiking, but the scenery was beautiful. It took a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get us there, but we felt like we had seen the most beautiful part of Australia. Our teenaged granddaughter especially liked the camel ride we took on one of the days.

Great location and well kept property but the rooms need a refurb. as they are quite outdated and tired looking.

Although you don't need a car to see the town, you do need a car to see the best the Alice Springs area has to offer.

“Can't recommend it”

It's a simple hotel, not disgusting, but not comfortable, modern or super clean. I travel a lot and am not overly picky, but I was glad we only stayed for a night. It could use a reno. It's basic accommodation, not suitable for a holiday stay. I would recommend spending a bit more and getting a nicer place such as the Crown Plaza, which is much nicer; we stayed there afterwards.

Try the Crown Plaza...quite nice and within walking distance of Alice Springs. We stayed there afterwards.

“essayer de trouver mieux!!!”

l alarme à incendie c est mise en route à 7H30 du matin et nous a reveiller! Elle est réster en route environs 30min! quand j ai demandé a un membres du personnel qu est ce qui arrivée il a dit que c était rien mais qu il ne pouvais pas éteindre l alarme qu il falais attendre les pompiers pour ca! Il étais impossible de ce recoucher vu le bruits infernale que ca fesait dans la chambres! Le pire quand je suis partie voir la réception pour leurs demander si je pouvez check out une heure plus tard, vu qu il mon gaché une heure de sommeille! Ils m on envoyé balader!!!! Et en plus ils se sont meme pas escuser ce que je trouve inaceptables!!!!!!! En gros bé ils s en foutent!!! n y allé pas!!! il y a beaucoup d autre hotel a Alice Springs qui je pence sont beaucoup mieux!!!! Ha et aussi ma chambres était juste a coté de la laverie!!!!! qui est assez bruyante elle aussi!!!! Comme quoi j ai choisie un hotel plus cher que d habitude parce que on avais vraiment besoin de ce reposer et d avoir du calme!!! bé ca a était tous le contraire!!!!!
