“A Bit Tired”
This hotel could be so much better, but needs a complete makeover to bring itup to today's standards in terms of decoration and decor
“Lovely hotel”
Were upgraded to a junior suite overlooking the sea. Bed was very large and very comfortable. Breakfast was very good quality, lots of choice.
“One Of The Best Hotels Ive Stayed In”
Went for the weekend with my wife, got off the plane at Alicante, paid 2 Euros for the bus which stops at the port 100 feet away from the front door of the hotel. Rooms was very nice. No Tea making facilities, had to make do with wine. Panoramic view of the harbour absolutely amazing. The beach is 2 minutes from the door. All staff helpful and courteous at all times Short walk, 5 mins into the town and plenty of restaurants, El Portal was nice, wine bar, serving Spanish food, little expensive but worth it for relaxing nice surroundings. Open top bus ride 10 Euros, jump on and off all day, takes you to the Castle, and magnificent view. No lager louts anywhere. Hotel buffet breakfast amazing, everything and anything. I would recommend this to anyone. Maybe not families with children aged 7 to 11 as the pool area was surrounded by people who didnt have children and I can imagine they would moan at children playing in the pool, but it might not always feel like that, its just my opinion. Going again ASAP
“Best hotel beach on one side marina on other”
Brillant Hotel, Pubs and Restuarts 2 min down the end of the road. Beach right next to the hotel
“very good but with a few iritations”
would have liked to have had Tea/Coffee making facility in the room, Room service was very expensive. The extractor fan in the bathroom was not working. the Trouser press had a broken leg so toppled over when opened. There was one electrical socket( the one nearest to the Trouser press) not working. Just little things wrong with an otherwise perfect stay.
“The Level, excellent experience”
The Level was an excellent experience and worth the money. The room was clean, comfortable and specious, the only down point being the air conditioning didnt work, as they were changing over from summer chillers to winter boilers. The receptionist/hostess on The Level floor was superb, always there when needed, helpful, nothing was too much trouble and everything completed with a smile - rare to find these days. I would certianly recommend for anyone to stay at The Melia on "The Level". If you take your own car the hotel does not have a car park although there is car parking available each side of the hotel, but the overnight charge was around twenty euros. No other free public car parking is available in the local area.
“Excellent hotel and good value for money”
Bedroom and bathroom were a little bit tired but other than that everything was first class. Staff were friendly and helpfull, food was excellent public areas were pleasent. Location was central with excellent views. Beware of parking charges - very expensive.
“Two things that spoilt it for us”
Room cleaning person (wearing dark blue uniform) barged into the room on 3 occasions without permission and without knocking. Our room overlooked the marina. Room 3022 overlooked a building site where pneumatic drills were in use throughout the day, preventing us from opening our balcony glass doors and also from using our balcony during each day of our stay. This spoilt an excellent hotel with excellent breakfast (overlooking the beach) and amazing location.
“Great experience”
Excellent position, good price, stupendous breakfast, very spacious,
“Great location”
Best location in the city with sea views, castle views and right on the beach. Just steps away from restaurants and attractions. Room could have been a bit cleaner and is starting to look a bit rundown but still comfortable.

Area:
Alicante, Spain: The provincial capital, Alicante is a bustling city with an excellent beach, a new marina, buzzing nightlife, and an atmospheric old quarter. High above the port, the Castillo de Santa Barbara looks down into the Barrio Santa Cruz, a picturesque warren of whitewashed streets, its little houses with window grills and geraniums, reminiscent of Andalusia. This is the heart of the citys nightlife, full of hole-in-the-wall bars and clubs.
