“Good hotel - would use again.”

We went off season to this hotel (1st week in February). The hotel was almost deserted, but the staff were polite, friendly and attentive. Most spoke very good English (and understood very poor Spannish!). All rooms seem to overlook the golf course as opposed to the main road. The hotel is a little far from the beach, but it is a golf hotel rather than a beach hotel. The new tram extension runs practically past the front door, so getting to the beach or town centre should not be a problem. Food was a little expensive, but it was well prepared and tastey. The breakfast buffet was good value. The restraunt menu was limited, but this could have been because we were off season and there only seemed to be about 10 people staying there!

“Happy Tartan Army Soldier”

First class accomodation at a very reasonable rate. This hotel oozes quality, lovely setting next to a beautiful golf course. Just watch out for the duck poo around the pool !

“Fantastic experience”

The hotel is visually beautiful, we stayed in a superior room, it had a balcony with fantastic views of the golf course. The beach (Player San Juan) is a 15 minute walk away and Alicante city is just a tram ride away (1.25 Euros) every 30 minutes - we had no problems getting around. As the hotel is not located in a tourist area there are not much local places to eat (a few across the road) & the beach has 2 restaurants - the area is being built up so by the summer (2011) there should be more places on offer. Restaurant at the hotel is reasonably priced, only downfall is that i would of liked more variety of food (room service was good) however as Alicante city is a 10 Euro taxi or Tram ride away... we did not starve. We figured out on our own how to change the TV from Spanish to English so if you are staying in you can still be entertained. Most staff spoke basic English which was good as my knowledge of Spanish is limited. Downfall of the hotel is that there is not a room kettle and they charge for hot water (so carry a travel kettle and a couple of mugs). I'm not sure what the golf course was like or the spa services are like as we never got round to it. Beware of the peacocks - they make noise thoughout the day and night - it was very annoying in the early hours of the morning as it wakes you up. We really enjoyed our stay and if we visit Alicante again we would stay in the Husa again (with our own kettle this time as things add up really quickly).

“Relaxing stay”

We stayed at this hotel out of season and it was very quiet with not many other guests. Consequently all the facilities like the pool and area were practically deserted.Also the pool bar was closed.Our room was first class with a good view of the grounds and nearby golf course. My only criticism was when we ate in the bar one evening and the food was not very good. The portions were small and the main courses came cold. These were then obviously taken back into the kitchen and put in the microwave. Overall though our stay was very good.

“Needs re fit”

My stay had good points and bad points, the hotel staff were very helpful, but the golf organisation was poor, very confusing as it is not owned by the hotel anymore and 1 morning i was asked to leave the course by the ranger after 3 holes, I was not happy! The golf shop and hotel are not alined so beware on tee off times. My bed was very lumpy and uncomfortable, so check your bed before you unpack everything! The sauna and steam rooms were out of use for maintenance, so only the small indoor swimming pool was available. The mini bar was delightfully reasonable with costs but there is no tea and coffee so that is frustrating. The hotel does need a re fit as it's very tired and not 4 star, 3 star in reality. I would probably not stay here again unless it has some refurb work.
