“A n excellent quality hotel”

This hotel was very good quality at a reasonable price. It has parking on site if you need it. The only drawback is it's location. It is about 15 minutes walk from the city centre but the surroundings are not the most attractive. The hotel is opposite railway yards and a station which is undergoing some rebuilding work. The area looks as though it is being made more attractive so improvements might be expected. Overall as a place to stay I have to say I was very satisfied.

“AC Alicante”

Check in was very efficient and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable, however it did NOT have a safe, which I feel should be standard in all the rooms. The restaurant was only open for breakfast, but there was a limited menu available in the lounge from 20.30 and 23.30. Internet access was only available in the lounge. The hotel is situated on the edge of the town almost opposite the docks. It is only 20 minutes from the airport and a short walk from the bus station. The staff were friendly and made you feel welcome I would classifiy this hotel as a business hotel rather than one for tourists

Area recommendations

Santa Barbara Castle is well worth a visit. it is quite a climb up to it but if you are not upto the climb then there is a lift that will take you upto it from the end of the esplanade

“A great hotel”

This really was an excellent hotel. It's only a 2 minute walk away from the airport bus stop, and really easy to spot from the road too. The staff were all very friendly, the food in the hotel was great and the rooms were spotless and stylish - as was the hotel in general. The small pool area was great for quiet sunbathing, as well. Although, the best part definitely has to be the free minibar which is restocked every day! Some other reviewers have complained that the hotel is "too far" from the beach and the centre of town. We didn't find this to be a problem at all. The hotel is no more than a 10-15 minute stroll from the beach/town centre. Not only that, but it's a lovely walk through parks and promenades with kids play areas and little stalls. I'd really recommend this hotel to anyone and I'd definitely stay there again.

Area recommendations

The plaza next to the town hall has lovely cafes. It's a great place to pass an hour or so in the hotter part of the day, sitting in the shade and watching people play in the water fountain!

“Close to airport bus, free minibar”

The free minibar was great. The airport bus is about two blocks away. The elevators do not require card access. Walking near the hotel area felt safe at night. Grocery store is several blocks away. Nice view of castle and panoramic city view from rooftop pool area.

“Good apart from thieves operating in reception”

Two con artists operating in reception really spolied our stay as my bag was stolen including passports and credit cards. Reception was manic with lots of people checking in and out and only one person staffing the desk and no security - I would have expected better from a 4 star hotel. Apart from that, staff were very helpful contacting the police and paying for a taxi to get to police station as thankfully my bag was found in tact apart from cash but I couldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Too far away, limited amenities!”

I tend to work while on vacation. I booked a reservation at the AC Alicante because it seemed like a business friendly hotel. I intended to spend my mornings working and my afternoons at the beach, which I did still accomplish. However, internet in the rooms is not complimentary and the expensive telefonica WiFi barely works and when it does is extremely slow. There is complimentary WiFi in the lobby, but who wants to sit in the lobby all day. The hotel is quite a long way from the beach, but it is a nice walk. Another thing I was looking for in a hotel was fitness facilities, which this hotel had, but was in extremely poor condition. With all that said there are numerous other nicer hotels in Alicante, for similar rates that are much closer to all of the action. There is really nothing near the AC Alicante. The staff in the one restaurant within the hotel don't really want to help you, unless you track them down or go to the bar to order.

Area recommendations

The Eurostar Lecentum, Gran Melia, and Tryp Alicante hotels are in much better locations. Eurostar Lecentum is furthest from the beach but is on a rather lively street with many shops and restaurants. The Tryp is about three blocks from the beach and The Gran Melia is on the Beach.

“nice weekend break”

We arrived @ 09.30 and were able to check in. 10 minute walk into the town or beach. Lots of places to eat and drink. Hotel room lovely and clean, maid service everyday. free minbar was nice (Ok only 1 beer and no wine but plenty of soft drinks but it was free after all). Even though the TV had satelite could only get English news. Pool nice but some more loungers could be accommodated.

“Nina + Thomas in Alicante”

Nice and new hotel. A bit far from the beach and the center of Alicante. But I knew that when I booked the hotel. The rooms were cleaned every day, minibar was free and filled up every day. So we were very pleased with the stay.

The Beach... And the small streets around the street La Rambla.

Nightlife

Go to Havana, there is two, but both are them are good but different in style. A lot of small bars around La Rambla, go there!!!
