“Great position, lovely beach but you have to pay to use it!”

Friendly staff at the desk. Porte Conte hotel has s a lovely beach with comfortable recliners. Sea great for all. You have to pay each day to use the beach. I was kept awake by ants all over the floor and in the bed plus cheap mattress. Functinal.

“Not very special”

Hotel is outdated. Rooms very basic (no safe/no fridge) and very small - and definately need renovation. Breakfast is typical Italian - a big room with basic breakfast. Staff is not really visible and certainly not friendly (maybe different if you are Italian - there were lots of Italians). Outside terrace for lunch: food is ok and not too expensive - but again staff is not great at all. Best part about hotel is surely the beach & the swimming pool - as well as the Embacadero restaurant in walking distance for a great seafood or pizza dinner right at the sea! There is nothing else around the hotel. No other restaurants - basically there are just hotels. Be aware if you take the bus to Alhero - it is certainly cheap and may be on time when you get there - but on the way back they often skip rides - which meant for us to wait for 90 minutes for the bus to finally arrive (no fun when late at night with tired kids)! Anyway - if you are looking for a hotel right at a (still fairly quiet) beach, that is good for little children - then this is an ok choice. But do not expect much - and prices are definately too high for what they offer (AND they charge extra for pool/beach towels and there is also a mandatory charge for "usage of facilities".)
