This is a very pleasant hotel

Posted 15-Sep-2014
Pros: The Sea view room is a must with stunning views across the ocean and pool area. We upgraded to this from a "garden view" .
Cons: first impressions are great, but on reflections it needs updating. TV's are ancient and only have "News channels" in English.. furniture is old.
Location: Great Pool, great beach, lots of good places to eat. stunning scenery
We have been to Carvoeiro several times but this is the first we have stayed in this hotel. several reviews said that it needs updating which is probably true, I think it is in need of a bit of TLC but in no way did this distract from our stay. All of the staff were polite and courteous at all times and always ready to assist.

Amazing location - best Vista I've ever had

Posted 14-Sep-2014
Cons: Needs a proper hot tub. An outdoor one would be nice.
Location: Near lots of caves and restaurants and great cliff-top walks.
We stayed here for 6 days and it was an excellent hotel. The best thing was the location - amazing sea views. Lovely cove and caves that could be accessed at low tide. Good pool facilities, again with that breathtaking view. Staff were helpful and usually friendly. Our room was huge with big balcony. My only negatives were that there was no hot tub - there was a "Jacuzzi" but the water was cool and it didn't work after the first day. The restaurant food was ok. We could have used a better pool bar menu as we mainly wanted to stay by the pool. If you do book (and I recommend it) make sure to pay the extra for a sea view room. It is worth it.

Great hotel along with location.

Posted 09-Sep-2014
Pros: The sea views and friendleness of the staff.
Cons: The hotel could do with a paint job but was very clean and in a great location.
Location: Restaurants and bars are only a10 minute walk away into town which we did every night. Great walks over the cliffs.
I am a frequent traveller due to my work and stay in very nice hotels around the world. Whilst booking this trip with my daughter I was not sure what to expect for the small amount of money we paid for the trip overall. To my surprise the hotel was excellent with sea views to die for.

Nice hotel in great location

Posted 08-Sep-2014
Pros: Clean, quiet, spacious, good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, great location.
Cons: The gyms leaves a lot to be desired. The showers/changing area associated with the indoor pool and gym also. Generally the hotel feels a little dated.
Location: Great cliff top location. 15 minute walk to the main town - perfect to escape the crowds and noise but still very accessible. Beaches north and south.
We enjoyed a one week stay in September 2014. The hotel was clean, quiet (a 15 minute walk from the main town/restaurants/shops), served a good breakfast and had very friendly and helpful staff. The cliff edge location provides beautiful views from the bar and poolside areas. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Absolute gem. Great venue, staff excel.

Posted 05-Aug-2014
Pros: Staff, venue, environment... Especially staff!
Cons: Rooms could do with refresh and as a gym user the gym needs replacement kit.
Location: For a one week stay there are plenty of nearby activities. The local village is a 15 min walk. Tour boats, jeep trips and golf are all good.
This is a mid size hotel in a location that brightens your day with a view overlooking an intimate cove. The view, the staff and the food make this a great venue for families or golfers alike. I travel a lot with work and try to stay away from the mainstream hospitality chains which whilst professional are often drab with uninvolving staff. This place has a great staff ethos of comfort, client first and personalities who DO go out of their way. For half board the food is good, but I would suggest a visit to local venues as well. Everything was seamless. The massage service above the cove is fantastic and fairly priced. The hidden cove was great and the pool's are clean and fresh. This was a great place to decompress and restore. The rooms need a wee refresh, but don't mistake that for a lack of comfort or cleanliness. Sitting in the bar, with a coffee in the morning or a wine at night (or earlier) overlooking the cove towards a glinting Algarve sea was classic holiday time. There's a diving school on site (PADI) and in the next cove there are sea kayaks for hire. If you are a sun worshiper the pool area gets a good eight hours, if you like to walk the coastal cliff paths running past the hotel take you to the local village or a wonderful cliff encased cafe. Really had a good time.

Lovely position in this resort

Posted 31-Jul-2014
Pros: Position near the sea and swimming pool
Stayed at the hotel for one week which was lovely. We regretted not hiring a car as other resorts are not reall within walking distance. Very nice staff, helpful, polite and nothing seems too much trouble for them
