Great Hotel

Posted 15-Aug-2014

Absolute gem. Great venue, staff excel.

Posted 05-Aug-2014
Pros: Staff, venue, environment... Especially staff!
Cons: Rooms could do with refresh and as a gym user the gym needs replacement kit.
Location: For a one week stay there are plenty of nearby activities. The local village is a 15 min walk. Tour boats, jeep trips and golf are all good.
This is a mid size hotel in a location that brightens your day with a view overlooking an intimate cove. The view, the staff and the food make this a great venue for families or golfers alike. I travel a lot with work and try to stay away from the mainstream hospitality chains which whilst professional are often drab with uninvolving staff. This place has a great staff ethos of comfort, client first and personalities who DO go out of their way. For half board the food is good, but I would suggest a visit to local venues as well. Everything was seamless. The massage service above the cove is fantastic and fairly priced. The hidden cove was great and the pool's are clean and fresh. This was a great place to decompress and restore. The rooms need a wee refresh, but don't mistake that for a lack of comfort or cleanliness. Sitting in the bar, with a coffee in the morning or a wine at night (or earlier) overlooking the cove towards a glinting Algarve sea was classic holiday time. There's a diving school on site (PADI) and in the next cove there are sea kayaks for hire. If you are a sun worshiper the pool area gets a good eight hours, if you like to walk the coastal cliff paths running past the hotel take you to the local village or a wonderful cliff encased cafe. Really had a good time.

Lovely position in this resort

Posted 31-Jul-2014
Pros: Position near the sea and swimming pool
Stayed at the hotel for one week which was lovely. We regretted not hiring a car as other resorts are not reall within walking distance. Very nice staff, helpful, polite and nothing seems too much trouble for them

Fabulous Algarve resort

Posted 17-Jul-2014
We stayed at the Tivoli Carvoeiro for 5 nights. It was the highlight of our trip. The resort is within eaay walking distance to Carvoeiro. We went into town every night doe dinner and the live entertainment. I'd highly recommend the Ele & Ela and O Patio restaurants. The only complaint we had was that our original room was very small but the staff went out of their way to accommodate our request for a room change.

Great location, disappointing room

Posted 05-Jul-2014
Hotel was in a perfect location at the top of the hill, easy walking distance to the town and beaches. The town is quite noisey so having the hotel a little further away was ideal. The hotel itself was dated, could do with an upgrade. We had a room at the back of the hotel ( not overlooking the sea) which was a mistake, the room was small, as was the balcony and always in the shade, often smelling damp. We went and had a look at the rooms overlooking the sea, still dated decor but the view made it!! Probably would have given this hotel a higher score if the room was improved.

Beautiful views

Posted 04-Jul-2014
Pros: Ready room on arrival, lovely view of sea and cliffs, fantastic pool area, lovely bar, nice beauty salon. Easy walking distance from town
Cons: If anything the hotel coiled probably do with a lick of paint here or there but apart from that nil to report.
Location: Probably less quiet then most resorts. Lots of walking that can be done. A boat trip to the caves around the coast is a must. Would rent a car again.
I was worried initallly as it was my first time in Portugal. But my mind was soon changed. Carvoeiro is a wonderful town with many nice walks, restaurants, shops, etc.
