Guests of the hotel enjoy a complimentary buffet breakfast each morning.
Alem Mar - Decorated with a cream tiled floor and cane and blue cushioned chairs, this is the hotel's main restaurant, serving a Continental and cooked buffet breakfast every morning. In the evenings there is an à la carte menu or a Discovery Buffet serving Mediterranean foods from Italy to the Algarve.
Corda Café - Located by one of the outdoor swimming pools with seating both inside and outside, this relaxed restaurant has a floor made of waxed logs, with cane tables and chairs and dilapidated antique luggage piled up alongside, as well as ropes, hooks and chains, and oars on the walls, as if it were in the bow of a ship. It serves light meals including salads, pastas, and burgers.
Aldar - This restaurant offers a taste of the Orient and is decorated to give a Moroccan feel, with low level seating on sofas in blue, red, and gold fabrics in an eastern style, low wooden tables, dark red walls, and old maps on the walls, known as portulanos.
O Pescador - This tiled-floored restaurant with white cane furniture has both indoor and outdoor seating for al fresco dining, and serves a selection of seafood specials from crustaceans and crabs to cataplana, a typical Portuguese dish cooked in a copper pot.
Porto Alegre - Located by a patio with seating amongst lemon trees and next to the games room, this ice cream parlor also serves burgers and fast food. It is only open during the summer months.
Beach Club - Only open in the summer months, this beachside restaurant serves lunch and dinner with a Portuguese and international menu on offer, as well as sandwiches, snacks, and ice cream.

“Very family orientated, very expensive!”
Purporting to be a high quality, family orientated holiday hotel it succeeds in most areas but expect to pay top prices for the pleasure! Other weaknesses - most rooms have poor views and many are overlooking the busy car park (where the staff congregate after their shifts for a noisy smoking break), not what you expect for the money you pay. Positives include a number of good quality restaurants, no problems getting a sunbed even at peak times, great views and a good beach.
“Quality Hotel”
This is an excellent hotel in a fantastic location. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for.
“Overpriced and only half open”
We went to this hotel for two weeks starting the week before half term. The hotel was only half open - especially the restaurants. The pirate ships that are much vaunted on the website were closed and would be until July (we went in May). In the first week there was no poolside service so drinks were bought at the outdoor cafe. When asked if these drinks could be brought to the pool the answer was 'no' no when asked to borrow a tray (there were a few on the bar) the answer again was 'no'. In a hotel of this 'quality' and price the answer should be 'yes' unless it is illegal. None of the ice machines worked at all throughout the stay. The room was often not serivced until after 4pm. The second week had nore restaurants open however this did not make up for the first week. Beer was expensive and a bottle of water was over 10 times the price of the supermarket at the hotel gate. The staff in the cafe had no idea about customer service and certainly went no way to making you feel that they wanted to serve you. As examples, food came out cold (I mean fridge cold onion rings) and when it was sent back the reason were questioned in a way to suggest we were wrong. This happened more than once. We spoke to other parents and they were equally disappointed with the level of service. You really got the impression that if you just gave them your money and left they would have been happier To sum up this is a 5 star facility with 3 star service and 6 star prices
“GOOD QUALITY FAMILY RESORT”
GREAT FOR YOUNG FAMILIES, SO SOULD PERHAPS BE AVOIDED IF ITS A ROMANTIC BREAK THAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR. WHEN WE WERE THERE, LAST WEEK IN MAY, IT WAS BEGINNING TO BECOME A BIT LIKE "BUGGY CITY"
“Extremely Happy”
Considering the deal we got for B&B this was excellent value and the April weather and lack of crowds suited us perfectly. Ideal base for just chilling out or sightseeing. The non inclusive services of the hotel are very expensive (levering it's 5* status) and we found it significanly less costly to eat at local restaurants, of which there are several within a short walk. The setting is stunning and eating breakfast 'al fresco' whilst looking across a manicured lawn framed by pine trees to the Atlantic Ocean beyond is something to be savoured. I was worried that it might be too overtly 'golfy' but whilst you are aware of the golf it is by no means in your face. Expect to be tempted into discussing property investment opportunities but we just declined and were left alone.
“Five star luxury on the Algarve”
Brilliant breakfasts, lovely soft bathrobes, on site 9 hole golf course with excellent greens. 17 metre indoor pool, but don't forget your swimming cap or you'll have to stump up E4.50 for a cloth cap. Bar was quite empty when we were there early evening, which meant my husband got to see the football match he wanted to. Good choice of restaurants nearby - I would recommend O Antonio for good value and delicious golden bream (Dourada).
“I would definitely go back”
The hotel is beautiful, with all the facilities in the resort that you need on a holiday. Rooms were clean, and the surroundings very pretty. It is quite far from the town centre, but a taxi took 15-20mins and wasn't that expensive. I would definitely go back for a relaxed holiday. Food was a bit expensive in the restaurants inside, but there are plenty of options right outside the resort. The staff was very friendly, and they offered to change our room when our video-on-demand wasn't working. All in all, a great holiday resort.
“Great place to stay - but dont eat here”
When I booked this hotel I was confused as its exact location. To be clear it is Sheraton hotel in the grounds of the golf resort (timeshare) a few miles outside Albufeira. The hotel was very good and up to the usual Sheraton standards, unfortunately the prices of food and drink in the hotel were very high, as much as 3 times the price of the same item in local restaurants. There are at least 5 good restaurants in the streets surrounding the hotel where you can get a good 3 course meal for about €25/head as opposed to the hotel buffet which was €44/head. I would have had to give up drinking if we had stayed in the hotel wine €7.50/glass in the hotel - on average €8 a bottle in the local restuarants. There are also 2 good supermarkets just outside the hotel to buy water and other items at very reasonable prices. This is a very superby palce to stay for a relaxing holiday or as a base to explore the Algarve, with great pools beach and garden areas for relaxing. The indoor pool is great for real swimming. You will need a car to explore the area as this hotel will not give you the real feeling of Portugal which is such a lovely country with friendly and welcoming people.
“Recommended”
Had a relaxing stay at Sheraton Algarve Hotel, would recommend it to anyone looking for a late holiday in the sun at the end of October.
“Patricia from London”
Enjoyed my stay, but did not realise the words "golf resort" meant a densely populated residential area with in the complex. Antonio's the best local resturant in my opinion. Would return here but play golf elsewhere.

Albufeira, Portugal: The former little white fishing village of Albufeira, now densely developed beneath a sea of apartments and mid-rise blocks, is the regions most popular resort. The pretty Old Town is wall-to-wall restaurants and bars, though some local establishments and residential areas still remain. Its picture-postcard Fishermans Beach, with spectacular ochre cliffs and rock stacks, remains an iconic, albeit often very crowded, Algarve sight.
