“great staff”

Our room smelled a bit like smoke, but the hotel addressed this up front, and did a very thorough cleaning the next day that took care of the problem. The staff person (Andrea, I believe) was extremely conscientious and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much. The breakfast facilities are decent, too, and we enjoyed our meals. I am not sure the hotel really offers a "sea view" as a building blocks most of the rooms for having this. A great staff person again makes all the difference.

“Very clean and very good location”

I stayed here for a week in April and loved it. I'd read the reviews before booking and although the feedback was generally positive I was a little worried about it being a 3-star hotel. I have to say though, it was much better than I had thought it would be. The room was small but very clean and room service was very good. A lot better in fact that some 4-star hotels I've stayed at! Breakfast was good, nice selection. Didn't get a chance to eat in the hotel restaurant because I was out most nights. would definitly recommend!

“A great autumn getaway”

We booked a last-minute trip to the Algarve in mid-October, looking for sun and relaxation, and found a very reasonable deal with the 3-star Santa Catarina Hotel. The hotel was very well presented, and the reception staff were helpful and all spoke English. Our room was spotless, and was cleaned each day. The hotel has no swimming pool, but you don't miss it as the beach is only a couple of minutes walk. You can hire sunbeds and parasols, and the sea was warm enough for swimming. There are lots of little cafes along the beach, with toilets and showers for beach users. The hotel was just a couple of minutes walk from the main strip of restaurants and bars. This is obviously a popular area with English people - the opening theme of Coronation Street could be heard coming from a few bars! The food was quite cheap, but did vary in quality.
